Well the G80 base is listed at 472 but there are plenty videos like this one where the G80 was put on a dyno and puts out substantially more power

Fresh off the press! Here's the Dyno chart from the video posted in this thread, let me know if ya'll have any questions. Used 94 octane gas from Petro Canada. Name: f869f62227222ff1e568ccfc491e96e2.jpg

And don't come talking about used because that's not what we're talking about here at all

I could care less about back seat usability etc. That's what the daily driver is for.

I've already done the turbo four. For years lol. So unless it's the GTS I don't want it. Now we're at $95K base. Cheapest 911 is $114. Both are a bit away from $62 base.
Look, you can distill it down and look at it in a bubble if it makes you feel better. A 911 has always been more expensive. That is nothing new; Porsche has always been a “pay-to-play” brand relative to BMW. The wait time/mark-ups weren’t an issue pre-pandemic. The focus was on your statement about people who buy sports coupes and care about the presence of back seats. You assert that everybody should be buying two-seaters when two-seaters aren’t practical for most people. A Porsche works for you. Awesome! A Porsche as a play car works for me. Great! A Porsche or other two-seater doesn’t necessarily work for others.

….and what does a Cayman and a turbo have to do with anything???

How many dealerships have you talked to? There have been plenty of open allocations since I started looking last Nov through Feb.

You can head over to the G82 forums and see the difficulty. A lot of people waiting a long time…

I've been living there on and off since Nov. It seems to me more production, supply chain and transport issues than actual allocations. Anyway

I think they will be fine.

911s are still selling despite Caymans hanging around.
Some folks just want a bigger car.
Personally, I prefer M2 over M4 and Cayman over 911 and would take RS4 Avant over RS6 Avant etc. I don't care what the glossy brochure says nor that a Camry can beat me at a stop light.

Nice power. But guys, look at the correction factor used. You are aware arent you that STD is an optimistic correction factor, and that if you really want an accurate dyno run, you have to use the SAE correction factor. STD inflates the result.

Honestly can't debate this with you, not well versed on it. I just chose a reputable shop with a dynojet and showed up with my car. For what it's worth, I dyno'd my M2 comp at this same shop in similar conditions with the same 94 octane fuel, and got just shy of 400whp. So apples to apples the G87 made 70whp more than my f87 m2 comp.

Point taken.. Just sayin', next time you go to the dyno, just ask the operator to set the correction factor to SAE for a more accurate result. If interested, you can read more about it here:

I wanted a two door more than a four door, and the M4 is pointless IMO next to an M2. That has nothing to do with M3 allocations I was referring to.

Would you be so kind and share these allocations with your fellow brethren on the G80/G82 boards? There are plenty of people over there who would love to get their hands on some, ESPECIALLY G80 ones, without having to pay ADM or a broker.

There's a list of dealers in our general area regarding which ones are good, bad and ugly. Call the ones recommended and I'm sure you'll find an open spot.

I think I like it more than the GT4 because I feel like the GT350R provides more fun on the regular streets, even when you are not bashing it. Plus I like the 8250 rpm V8.
The Shelby interior isn’t anything to ride home about but I think it fits the GT350R well as it’s more of a sparse interior and I think it fits the car’s personality quite well IMO. It doesn’t try to be something it’s not and is more focused around the driving experience than anything. The M2 is going to have a way better interior but it’s also 7-8 yrs newer and will have way more tech.

So if you want more creature comforts and a back seat, M2 would be the way to go. But I think the GT350R will always retain its value and then some for years to come. Same may be said for the M2 but too early to tell

I think the car is fine, a bit heavy, but that’s what we have to deal with these days unfortunately. The only way to avoid this is by buying a purpose built sports car you can’t avoid it. Most cars share a platform with others, therefore they need to work with existing parts, weight issues etc. I wish the G87 wasn’t as heavy, it has a lot of potential. They needed to give it more power to offset how heavy it is. A 718 GTS (soft top or hard) will win any day despite having elss power and torque. Those 500lbs less make a huge difference in terms of driving, at least from the enjoyment side.

I don’t think there’s a wrong car, each has their own buyer and I think the good to know that.
