I was extremely careful not to drop the screws because they would have fallen behind the drivetrain heatshield. I just took my time. I used long needle nose pliers to wiggle the stock bushing off the shift fork. Then, I wiggled the RE bushing on and tightened down the bolts.

The shifts are smoother and less notchy. The lever glides into gear now. This upgrade has significantly reduced the binding feel when shifting into first and second. Overall, gear changes now feel more sturdy and polished.
The notched feeling from 1-2 does bother me as well. This seems like a great mod

You can buy the rear carrier bushing and front bushings separately. I skipped the front bushings because you have to remove the shift fork to install them. To get the shift fork out, you have to drop the trans a little, and I didn't think it was worth it. The ideal time to install the front bushings is when you install an SSK.

My BBS LM limited edition black w/blue flakes are going in for refinishing tomorrow for a completely new look. I am sick of how the black just blends in. It’s time for some real bling!

Should be done by Bimmerinvasion LA. My car will be on display at Cencal booth if anyone wants to slide by and say hi.

Will also be paint matching an R44 rear lid spoiler (won’t be done by bimmerinvasion).

Hands in tight spaces, not a problem. But I am fantastically skilled at dropping screws I’m not supposed to drop.

Would also be interested in hearing what folks have to say about this combo (though I have the AA single). I’m afraid cold start will be thunderous.

Please do! Do you currently have the AA EL on the car? Would be great to get the comparison of that currently versus the EL + exhaust.

Currently have the AA equal length and evolution racewerks cross over pipe. The MAD axle back will be here tomorrow. Then putting it on the next Friday. Also I have a SST valve controller. So I’ll see how bad cold starts are with it fully closed.

Does this setup on G87 require a ton of trimming on the plastic seal trim covers at each end? G80/82 look very different in that area.

Not 100 percent sure as I am installing this weekend. Its possible that the black tie in brackets that sit on each strut tower may require some trimming.

I wouldn't expect it to be bad with stock dp. Cold start with valves closed if needed.

I have the AA EL mid but oem axleback for now. Cold start valves closed is still quiet, valves open is much louder obviously, but nothing compared to my last car with long tubes on a v8 lol.

Yeah, no matter what the setup, its an inline 6...I wouldn't call it "thunderous" under any circumstances.

I have highflow catted downpipes, catback exhaust with valves open on a tuned ecu and it's still not that obnoxious (in my parking garage at work, there is a Tesla that parks behind me and if it's there when I leave, I do set off it's alarm...then again its a Tesla so I am not that concerned).
