Spent a few hours doing a deep clean of the front wheels and calipers then coated them with the Geyon Q2 rim coating. Ran out of steam before getting to the rears, so I will see if this coating makes any difference with the brake dust on the fronts before I spend the energy on the rears.

If you have the oem pads, the only thing that will help with the dust is to swap the pads. The first thing I did on my M2 & wife's X3MC.

Yeah ceramic coating won’t help much with preventing dust. It just makes it easier to clean/pressure wash!

Swap out your pads with ceramic ones. It’s a miracle cure

Finally got my car yesterday after over a year of dealer shenanigans.

The paint was less than stellar. Dealer ran it through the auto wash and their detailers missed a lot. They also scratched my rocker panels. I did paint correction all day. Wash, compound, IPA wash to get the compound oils off, then finished with Griots all in one ceramic wax and polish. Looks a lot better now.

Installed these Chinese puddle lights which are really vivid. Loving them (addcarlights.com). PPF is next.

I’m in the same boat. I spent a good 5 hours last week ceramic coating the wheels. Pulled them all off and cleaned them, then coated them with Gtech C5, CSL, and EXOv5. Cleaning them took the most time. The coating only took about 1.5 hours in total and was the easiest part of the job. We’ll see how the weekly cleaning goes next week. Really hoping it’s more of a spray and go.

A little wheel cleaner and a pressure washer? Maybe I need to get a little mitt.

Happy New Year to you!

I have a fairly narrow soft brush, also hard to use. Somehow I managed to micro-scratch the shit out of the black paint by cleaning with it. Of course I waited 2.5 months to ceramic coat them. Mistake! I should have done it on day one.

You could not have posted this at a worse time. I've been obsessing over the idea of a set of FI-R Evos recently for my G87 as the "forever" wheels. I really like this look.

Sadly, I don't think this will solve our issues, as DriveWithDray and JABCAT have mentioned. If it makes even a small difference I won't consider it time wasted.

I have had the best luck using a microfiber rag dunked in a bucket of soap water. You can quickly hit most of the wheel with minimal effort then if you put the rag over just one finger you can get in between the grooves very well. I also use a wand to get the barrels.

Happy New Year! The weather is beautiful here today and its time for a drive.

I’m going to give these a try.
