Looks great! I think that front splitter and those side skirts are the best looking currently available. Waiting for gloss black versions to be produced and the vendors to recoup their tooling costs so the prices can come down to reasonable levels.

I got it. I apologize for having moment where emotions outweighed logic.

Can we lay off the passive aggressive mockery?

It’s ok if not; for a moment I just had thought this forum was better than the crayon eating mk4 forums of the ‘vortex. 😛

I deleted that post literally a few minutes after making it because I knew someone would be offended by it.

Apologies someone responded in that short window.

I was mostly trying to make light of the situation, not mock anyone specifically.

I get it. I took it in jest. I should have added the “/s” just to be 100 percent clear.

For real though, I was expecting the forums to be very different based upon the classic BMW driver stereotypes. It has been very warm and supporting. I do enjoy the jokes and gentle ball busting. The mk4 forums/car lounge forums are way more toxic and annoying.

I knew the price of admission to the BMW game. I knew it would cost me more than other cars. I was not upset by that as I have only owned German cars since I was 18.

What I did not know was how incredibly dumb some things are that have to do be done to keep it from being a heap on the side of the road and how dumb some items were designed on this car.

1) Having a stereo system in a $70k car that sounds subpar to a stereo system in a $36k GTI. The Fender system in my 2019 GTI blew the H&K system out of the water. No quality loss at high volume and a subwoofer that punched my in the sternum and ear holes if I wanted it to.

2) Having to provide my own protection for the radiators and oil cooler or a small pebble will take out my engine. Fine. $600 worth of parts to do what the factory should have done. Whatever. Would I have rather spent that on other modifications? 100 percent, but fine. Parts ordered.

3) Havng to buy OEM BMW washer fluid or your pump and nozzles will fail. WTF.
Yes, I know in the end it cost no more than normal fluid, but come on.

I’m sorry my dudettes and dudes. Just a little frustrated as I had the car for all of 2 weeks before having to store it for the winter. It’s currently sitting in my garage with 500 miles on the clock. It hurts to see it sitting there, not being driven while I make a somewhat large payment on it.

I just really hope when I am able to drive it in the spring that I can overlook the annoyances.

I know people will rag on this post, but I list want know that it will be worth it at some point. I want to know that it wa smart to pass up my RS3 allocation in favor of this car. This was my second attainable dream car. My first dream car was an 2004 R32 and while the M2 could run circles around it, it has some big shoes to fill and so far I can’t get my foot into it.
Chin up man. Having a nice car in Minnesota is tough. Hopefully once the roads are no longer salted and you get past your break in, you can uncork the rear drive goodness and your perspective will change. In the mean time, think good thoughts. Regards, a fellow MN G87 guy.

You totally copied me Lol. What PSI you running in those? Mine came set at 37 PSI and I'd like to reduce to 32/33 as they feel springy/hoppy in corners at that high PSI.

So many of you may have remembered me in here with my BSM G87 that I had modded at EAS and 2 days later someone hit and ran my baby while parked.

Turns out the chassis was severely swayed on impact and everything was pushed over internally (whatever that means, I’m not a tech).

I was so distraught about the situation that I took some time away from here to get my mind right and just drop in to read occasionally, but not engage in conversation as you can imagine it hurts not having your G87 with you lol.

I started casually browsing the market to see what’s been out there (I wasn’t looking to buy just yet), but nothing was as specked to my liking as my original BSM. She was a 6MT specked to the gills besides the bucket seats (I regretted this decision and would have thrown in Recaro seats if I still had her).

But then…it seemed to almost fall into my lap. I was Inquiring about another G87 sitting on the lot (not my taste and lacking the features I love but eh I called anyways just to talk). I asked “do you know of anything cool coming in in the future?” The sales manager told me about a ZB full carbon pack 6MT that was sitting AT THE PORT ready to drop at the dealer.

No name was on it.

This was my opportunity. As we know carbon packs are postponed for the most part and believe me when I tell you, a 6MT carbon pack that ISN’T accounted for already is impossible to get in the US. This had to be the only one I assume. It wasn’t even on the website yet, just fluke thing that he told me in conversation.

He told me he reached out to a select few others about it but no reaction from them yet.

Boom, closed.

I’m now the proud owner of a new ZB G87 carbon pack 6MT with lighting package and HUD. My EXACT speck plus I now get the carbon buckets I regretted not getting in the first place. I pick her up tomorrow, she’s waiting for me in the show room after PDI with a “sold” sign on her.

Papers are signed and I’m excited to be back in the saddle. It’s been a ride. As for my old G87, we are still going through the insurance steps necessary, but it’s looking very good. I did not want to lose this car as I would have if I had waited 30 minutes longer. Hopefully I can salvage some parts off the old one. And if not, fresh starts are fine (just not as fine for the check book).

I’m just thankful to be back.

After it happened I never even thought to. I can post some if anyone wants to see? I wish I could post a video- my body shop did a explanation video of the internals. Maybe I’ll grab some screenshots from that video as you can see the insides damaged also.
