The car is pretty much built start to finish in 2 days. You switch to 112 about 2 weeks before your actual production iirc.

Interesting. Don’t mind me just hunting for crumbs of info before I sit in final assembly / transport purgatory

Yup, especially if they are batch painting like they supposedly had been doing. The painted shells are lying in wait to be dropped onto a chassis. A few stop down the assembly line, badda bing badda boom...your car is built (its not rocket science and you aren't getting each car hand assembled and specced by one person like some specialty card).

I did hear they are bringing in kayaks and canoes to personally deliver one car at a time to help expedite things.

It’s still in final assembly, not yet to ready to transport.

I saw mine go to production queue 2 weeks before scheduled production date, quality check 3 days before production date, final assembly on production date where it stayed for 3 days and just flipped to ready for transport this morning. This is a week 34 production, carbon roof and trim but no buckets.

My car finally arrived at the dealership! Just for reference, arrived at port (BAL) last Wednesday, MP HAS started work on Thursday, no update from then until today when my CA emailed me that it was delivered today. The dealership is just outside Baltimore so I can't imagine it was on a truck very long. Now the big question, do I bother driving 3.5 hours after work tomorrow morning just to pick it up and drive it back, having to be back at work by 10 pm tomorrow night?! Or just be patient, pick it up Monday when I'm off for good and actually having some light work done in NJ on Tuesday. I don't think I have it in me to wait any longer.

Congratulations!!

I would have already been at the dealer by now

That drive sucks major ass though. I'm in Philly and my work HQ is in Long Island so I have to go there semi-often.

So you def know what the drive is, and add on a little over an hour to get to Bel Air. The worst is Staten Island to JFK, traffic is always terrible. I have a couple ideas brewing in my head, the winner seems to be getting a hotel in Linden for about 4 hours to try to get some sleep before work and miss traffic! First world problems. Anyways, I hope you're able to take delivery soon. Your cars journey was painful.

I flew to TX from AZ to buy a 335is, and drive it home 12 hours the same day back in the day. And that was just a 335is. Dig deep and go get’er. 😁

Car switched back to 'in transit' from 'at the port'.

Confirmed it left on a truck to the dealership 40 mins ago!!! Only 1.5 hour drive, hoping it goes straight there. Today is probably a stretch, but I should be able to take delivery tomorrow!!

There was another M2 my dealer has coming from same ship/port... it's still there. My very first sliver of luck has arrived, nearly 6 months after my allocation. LETS GOOOOOOOOO

That would be awesome! Hopefully your CA will prioritize getting your vehicle ready for delivery. So, I decided I was going to make the drive but realized I should call first. Good thing I did cause they said they wouldn't be able to have it prepped until this evening. Still, making the drive tomorrow morning. Here's to hoping we both start the break in period tomorrow!

He most definitely is, he feels bad for how screwed up my process turned out (not his fault ofc). I've been bugging that man daily for the last week haha

Congrats to you as well!!
