Company car help please (non-bmw)

Hey everyone,

So I will be moving from Houston to Los Angeles, CA for work and will be getting a company car allowance.

I test drove some cars this weekend, and really cant go back to a Japanese car after owning a 335i (not trying to sound snobby). I will most likely be going with Volkswagen and am torn between a GTI and the CC.

The GTI would definately be more fun, but the CC is more sleek (more of a young professional looking car). Normally I would go with the GTI right away, but since this is a company car, I have to think about my image somewhat as well.

On a side note, and unfortunately, I will most likely be selling my 08 335i e92 . It just makes more financial sense to save some extra money instead of making a car payment on a car that will hardly be driven. (I'm saving for an engagement ring and wedding expenses for the the somewhat near future)

Thoughts on GTI vs CC? Any other cars that I should consider in that price range (25-30K)

Thanks!

I forgot to mention, the company car needs to meet these requirements:

1. 4 door
2. at least 20 MPG city
3. Gasoline (i.e. no diesel)
4. Must not be any older than 4 model years (which is why i will probably go with new vs used). This way they are paying for it longer and once the car is paid off it is mine to keep

I think the CC is the best looking car in it price range by a fair amount. However, I think the utility of the GTI would be difficult to beat. The hatch can manage odd shapes like tvs, smaller furniture etc. as an only car the GTI is the winner between those two.

Or one of these

I would love to get a 328....too bad it does not get 20 mpg city

Also, used isn't really an option unless it is an 2011 model with very low miles.

How are audi's reliability wise over the long haul? How does VW's maintenance compare to audi?

The same lulz. Audi is basically VW's luxury division. They share lots of platform/engine parts.

FWD CVT. I'd pass. I would say the GTI, but since it's for business probably the CC.

The Lexus CTh looks pretty nice even though it's Japanese, and it's a hatch

Not quite sure why a car guy would want a glorified Prius.

Just thinking of what would fit his preference in that price range. Lexus' in this segment hold their value well

I'd recommend a Fusion maybe, but that sounds like it could be a bit conservative in your case. The CC isn't bad, but new in the $25-30k range is going to be bare bones if I'm not mistaken.

Just like how your A4 is a Glorified Passat right?
Why didn't you just buy a Passat?
Ask yourself those same questions and you will get answers to why people would buy a CT200 over a Prius

I don't have an A4 anymore, I own a G35 Coupe. However, you missed my point. My point had nothing to do with the fact that Toyota owns Prius. My point is that I don't see why a car guy would want a Prius, Ct200h, or any other hybrid for that matter.

VW's and Audi's are both great cars, and I would be happy to drive either brand.

Ooh, maybe a car guy has other priorities in life like saving up for a house and thinks hybrids will save them money? I really have no ideal lol.
