Ordered a 335i 6spd, but what about F30 N55 chip/exhaust/intake?!
Hey everyone,
How's it goin'?! Anyone that already has their 335 please let me know what you think, I can't wait until mine gets here! I have been an audi guy for the past decade and am finally entering the BMW arena! Heres what I ordered up: Alpine White Black w/ silver trim red accent Tech pkg premium pkg apps m dynamic suspension sound pkg cold weather pkg I think thats it... I am looking to find a shop that wants to do an exhaust or an intake on a 335 in the NE area in late May/early June... Any suggestions/people I should contact? And I know there aren't currently any brands producing stuff for this car but someone has to be the first, right? Does the chip for last years 335i work on this car b/c their both N55, or is that question still unanswered? *Edit: Since it is different, who is working on one? Thanks for the insights and if anyone has a picture of their F30 on springs and tint, no one hates a good picture. Last edited by 1.fresh.f30.335; 04-12-2012 at 11:05 AM.. |

As far as tuning goes, Terry at BMS said this: "Unfortunately, they changed around the DME so none of the CAN stuff we've developed for the N54 and N55 motors is compatible. It's back to square one there."

There are both mechanical (like fuel pump) and electronic differences between the F30 N55 and E90 N55 engines

Coils are epic, but I can't do them again...I will get the urge to go lower, and lower, and lower! A little proof of why I can't go that route: (this thread needed some pictures :thump No not yet, I'm still seeing what kind of deal I can get on them. You could consider the M Perfomance power kit that will be released soon in combination with K&N airintake and Akrapovic exhaust system! Other suppliers will definately come with more power from software updates later, however that kills the BMW guarantee (at least here in NL).
Good luck! |

We should have production downpipe and exhaust ready for end May is our goal. I'm tryingmy best to have a Tune ready around the same time so running catless is possible for all.
We should have at least a prototype front mount ready around the same time as well. Quote:

Well, whatever gets developed, don't expect the kind of power gains that the N54 engine could produce. This N55 is all about efficiency and is going to be somewhat limited in what it will ultimately produce without endangering warranty coverage. Also, if you live an an area that looks closely at emissions controls, "going catless" could lead to some serious legal problems. Unless, of course, it's "for off-road use only".
