Dodge Challenger 6.4L vs BMW 340i/440iGC
Good Morning!
My wife is looking for a new lease and I have helped her narrowing it down to 3 cars. 1) 2017 Infiniti Q60 400hp 2) 2016 Dodge Challenger scat pack shaker 6.4L 3) 2017 BMW 340i/440iGC I would love to get the BMW for her because I love the way the Grand Coupe looks but the pricing for the 440i might run up to $600 per month. I own a 2007 530i n52 so I am biased. The Dodge Challenger would be the cheapest, but I am not a fan of the interior. The exterior and engine is amazing, but I think the BMW might be more refined over the muscle car for a Daily driver. I just love the look Of the challeneger and would probably try and get it in the purple exterior and tan interior. The reason for considering the infiniti is because her current car is a 2014 q50a 3.7 L 330hp and she still has a year left. We know the dealership and they will take the lease back and let us pick up another car. Just looking for opinions and advice from avid car enthusiast. My wife and I arw 28 and she wants something fast with good brakes lol. I told her to get an M3 (YOLO!!!) but she says it is too expensive. |

I'd stay away from the Q60 simply due to the poor transmission. The Challenger on the other hand will be a blast to drive, has plenty of good reviews. All depends if she values raw performance over a step up in quality.

Why is she only considering the two door Dodge and Infiniti, and only the four door BMWs? Is that based on your advice?
I would just get her whichever car she is most emotionally moved by otherwise she won't be happy and your life will suck. |

I have a '16 plum crazy purple hemi scat pack challenger 6 speed. The performance pages app is amazing, keeps track of all gauges and your track performance, if your wife is in to that!

I would be getting the automatic for her. Any reason for not getting the shaker scat pack or even the hemi 392? I know that we want the 6.4L engine, but the salesman at the delearship are clueless on what the differences are.

I've read quite a few reviews on the Q60 and they're are less than stellar for sure. Everyone seems to think there is something off with the car. The way it drives/handles etc.
It will more than likely be close to the cheapest car since you already have one and they'll get you into a new one for close to nothing down. The 3/440 will more than likely cost you the most. Very refined and nice driver, but it will lack the rawness/driver oriented car that they used to be. The F3X platform is nice, but it just doesn't have what the old cars did. Look at all the reviews comparing it to it's peers. It is no longer the best chassis in the class. The Cadillac and Lexus have caught and surpassed it. The engine is what it is, great. The Challenger will be a HEAVY car for sure. It'll be a great cruiser and perfect for long trips. In the turns, it'll be more cumbersome due to the weight, but when you mash the throttle from a stop - hold on! All that 6.4L fury will be fun. Let the wife drive each one and let her decide. If she's happy, you'll be happy (hopefully).
