Lease question - windshield damage?

Hey guys, the very slight surface chips on the windshield are unavoidable, especially in NY.....I pretty much have got a couple on every car, so I got my first one on the m3....when it's a lease, so those count against you? Or is it just actual cracks and scratches (ones that need repair)?

Minor chips and marks on the windshield are normal wear and tear. Some of the minor stuff may also get resolved with glass polish FYI.

Also if you happen to lease another one, rules and inspection are likely to be a bit more relaxed.

It would seem this is true.

I had to replace the windshield through my insurance once the crack spread horizontally length wise after getting hit by a rock on The belt parkway.

My former car with the replaced windshield was a 2013 650i GC. The replacement windshield wasn't even mentioned when I turned in that lease.

Not sure if it was because I leased another BMW, or because if my insurance had Safelite replace the windshield. Either way, I think you will be ok if you get the windshield repaired on your leased car.

There is zero chance it will have any impact on your lease. I just got out of one with a slightly pitted windshield - wasn't a problem at all.

If you had cracks or scratches on the windshield - they might say something, hard to say.

it would all depend on the size of the pit/scuff etc.. It would be up to the dealer. I would not worry about something you can't control and just enjoy the car
just when it comes times to turn your car in, bring it up to the dealer and see what they say and go from there
