Buy the kit, you can find cheaper lsx's and do the work yourself. I've done tons of swaps and the lsx based stuff is some of the easiest. Why pay someone to basically remove and replace? It's easy and straight forward.

I think this is much of the reason Subaru doesn't do it. We picture them putting a turbo on the existing car for little cost and shipping it but reality is they then need better brakes, better and bigger wheels/tires, possibly revisions to the suspension, possibly changes to the transmission (different transmission?) and after they are all done the price of this version goes up a lot and they don't sell enough of them to justify the project. Then nobody wants the low powered version and few want the high powered version because of what it really costs and net result is it isn't worth the extensive time and cost to do it on a low volume car.

i can't see anybody wanting to buy this car without the power bump, i have driven the new toyota 86 and when you floor it, it feels about like half throttle on my IS300 now, which is ridiculous that considering how much heavier my car is and the 2 extra doors, the 86/BRZ can't even keep up

I do kinda agree that all of the aero is kinda pointless without a little extra power. They don't really need to add a turbo either. A forged 9000rpm, 2.0L 250HP H4 or 2.5L 250HP H4 will suffice.
