Don't remember where I saw it, but Chris Harris tests the "updated" version of one of those beautiful Alfa coupes from late 60's, early 70's. Such a gorgeous car, no PS, no PB, no bumpers! Then I find out they cost $250,000.
Want one anyway.....

So true. These old cars take you back to the simpler times of when everything was done practically on the fly. These old engines practically handed you the spark plugs, and many even acted as a table to place them on. And their styling was just on a whole different level.

Never been to the revival, but I've been to the festival of speed several times and it is awesome.
FOS should be on every petrolheads bucket list!

Ah the Bucket List. I've had some Kool cars, 68' Sunbeam Tiger and Factory Five Cobra, my wife has a '79 Mini with a 1275 engine that was built to about 115HP. I sold the Tiger to get a Porsche 996, it seemed like a good idea at the time. The P car was ok, don't get me wrong but I should've hung onto the Tiger. I got the Z4MC after the Factory Five which was a lot of fun and I've hung onto the Z4MC for a while now and will probably keep it for a long time unless I break down (and come into some money), as I'd love to get an older air cooled 911 (993 or 964) unless I win the lottery and then it's a Singer all day long. I guess where I'm going is that I just love the older cars. The rawness, no electronic nannies, a bit smelly but real. There will never be a self driving car in my driveway.......oh well fingers crossed that my lottery ticket comes through.

I seriously believe the wrong family took me home from the hospital, I think I was born into money but taken home by my working class parents in error

I marshalled at FoS from 1995 to 2001, and only went as a punter the following year in 2002 so that the then, but now ex-missus could see what it was all about. By that time the event had lost a little of its sparkle for me....partly because of the Revival, which holds much more of interest to me.

Been to every Revival since then, and while it too has lost a little of its charm, as its grown to be such a huge event, it's still a fabulous event to attend. Needs to be done for at least 2 of the 3 days though to really get the most out of it.
