Christian v. Koenigsegg always called out to Bugatti to see who's fastest from 0-400.
Bugatti usually did top speed claims as thats where they're usually king, with having specially developped tyres that can handle those speeds etc. But with bugatti having set 0-400-0 in 41.96 sec (last month I believe), koenigsegg shows that they're considerably faster. v. Koenigsegg was clearly waiting for this test from bugatti as it took him less than a month to organize his test

I thought One:1 should be the fastest one with 0-400-0 around 30 sec?
http://koenigsegg.com/one1/ Off topic, but the Koenigsegg's owner is a super cool dude, and he reminds me the "Fantomas" from old french movies. Last edited by Sedoy; 10-06-2017 at 08:11 AM.. |

I honestly think the a new category like Super GT needs to be created for cars like the Chiron. You can use that car everyday, and travel continents with it. The Agera is a Super Car. After five minutes, your butt and back would hate you.

Have you ever ridden in an agera? Koenigsegg is extremely good with his engineering of getting the absolute most performance out of a car without sacrificing the drivability and comfort of a car with that sort of price tag.

^pics or it didnt happen
But imho it would be more interesting to see a nice lap comparison with a modern day koenigsegg against say a 918 or laferrari or p1. You can find acceleration tests that current koenigseggs will blow these cars away (no surprise as it also blows away the chiron), but track performance would be nice too. Sadly last trip to the nordschleife probably left a very bitter taste I find it always interesting that if you see a koenigsegg in real life, how small it is. They're very short and low (and incredibly wide of course)

The cars aren't really comparable.
Of course the Konnneisssiggegr is faster, but that doesn't make it better. It's the same argument as why buy the M3 when you can get a c4 vette with a blower... Would LOVE to own either; but the ease and grace that the Chiron drives is absolutely astounding. |

I admire Christian, he typifies how powerful innate curiosity can be. He is always striving for the next best technology platform, whether it be motor, gearbox, etc. That he is thriving with a product that is so uber high tech at a price to match just makes the story more incredible to me. I watched a documentary on him, his company, family etc., you couldn't write this script. Personally, I would like to see a blend of Pagani and Koeniggseg, the Pagan interiors are insanely beautiful. But then that blend of vehicle might be the Bugatti with its superlative engineering and retro interior.....

^ exactly.
Better is very much an undefined property. My volvo is 'better' than either. It can carry way way more luggage and passengers, so its a better luggage and passenger carrier. It's a huge achievement that a company that started from 1 person can make cars that rival the technical pinnacle of the ultimate performance brand that is fully backed up by a 400 billion dollar carmanufacturer, and can do it at a profit too (VW claimed for years that they made a loss on every bugatti they sold, which makes it virtually a driving advertisement)
