Just bought an '05 GTO.......

Just thought I would share, I recently bought an already modded 2005 Pontiac GTO to mess with. I decided to stop modding the 335i and keep it with just PROcede 1.47, downpipes, and exhaust. I want it to be my daily driver/road trip car and not get too carried away with it and buy a second car I can go crazy on. I'm pretty excited about it, I found it for sale in Bakersfield CA for $19k with 20,637 miles and it already had the following installed:

-90 MM Throttle Body
-TSP 224/224.581/.581 @ 114 LSA Custom Camshaft
-PRC CNC Ported LS6 Cylinder Heads
-Stage 2 Performance 4L60E Transmission
-PI 2400 rpm stall converter
-Kooks Longtube 1-3/4" Headers w/ high-flow cats

I have already installed an AEM intake and a set of BF Goodrich KDW NT's and have the following on order:

-Spintech 3" catback exhaust
-FAST intake manifold
-3.91 gears

I will probably be installing a D1-SC Procharger kit on it this summer, along with upgraded Axleshafts, driveshaft, pistons, etc. I found it interesting this car still had the stock airbox and stock catback on it, with all the other stuff done to it already because of emissions I assume and they guy I bought it from wanted an out of state buyer because the headers would not pass. Here are a few photos the previous owner took of it:

Nice GTO!
I'm keeping the mods on the 335i to a minimal and modifying cars that I can blow up without too much financial commitment .

Sweet!

Keep us posted as the mods get done. I think you need some 19"s.

I was going to say slap a 3200 stall in it instead of the 3.91 gears. Make sure once the mods are done get it dyno tuned! Enjoy. Also, you may want to get some drag radials for the rear to give you the traction you will need!

I prefer the classic GTO, they just don't make 'em like they used too

I was next to a kid in a red one yesterday. I swear that thing was loping(sp?) like my old 396 SS. Are cam changes common with these? It was so loud it hurt my old man ears.

This was major loping. It almost sounded like it was about to stall out. I love that sound. Brought back memories.

Yes, very common.

There are at least 3 or 4 that I've seen around Houston that lope like a son of a bitch.

I love the sound.

i raced a kid with the same GTO only in the metallic blue color the other day and i beat him by a car length from a 30mph roll in 2nd gear.. only performance mod i have is SSTT. His jaw dropped after i beat him and he cudnt believe a chipped 335 beat his modded GTO.. i have to admit tho his exhaust sounded sick.

GTOs are like women with hot bodies and less than attractive faces. You'd love to take a ride but only if there's a paper bag handy.
