I don't see it mattering as it isn't on the cars or dealerships and they don't do much to promote "GM", instead it's the car brands people care about. No different than Proctor & Gamble being one of the largest consumer goods companies in the world but no one cares about the P&G logo.

The logo is the opposite of conveying strength and authority... so it seems completely wrong for GM's light trucks and sporty vehicles. Perhaps it's appropriate for some wimpy EV commuter, but they better come up with a variant that appears tougher for their very-important light truck offerings.
