Didn't take long for this thread to go down the toilet. I guess we did learn something about some people. LOL

Apparently the presence of the yellow unmentionables is really obvious upon, uh, visual inspection of the crotch area. He ebays the stuff so he looks over the whole garment inside and out before putting it up for sale. Wash or dry clean your clothes before donating them, people!!! |

Good pocket knifes bring can be sold for more than chump change. My local restore reuse place just lost their lease and a selling everything 50% off.
These two matching pieces were $550 and solid Cherry so good stuff can be found. |

You can find some good deals from time to time. Got this antique dresser at a Salvation Army shop years ago. I paid $25 CDN for it. If you look close you can see the brush strokes where the silver was applied to the mirror.

I'm not a big fan of the regular thrift stores, but we do enjoy going to the consignment/antique furniture stores. You can find a lot of bargains on quality stuff... and a lot of overpriced crap too. We bought our bedroom furniture in NC from a consignment store. Nice solid wood oak for 1/3 the price of what we would pay for some particle board junk at a furnisher store. We wander around Dead People's Stuff all the time as it's in downtown so it's a good place to go walk of the meal you just ate. However their prices are crazy. You will see some old ass dresser that looks like it came out of a flood or something and those motherfuckers want $300 for "antique" dresser. C'mon man!! |
