Does anyone else find this door handle hard to lock when you touch? I never succeed in the first attempt, I usually have to mess around with it a few time before it locks the car. In my x3 I find it very easy to lock the car with the touch of the door handle.

The touch control on the door handle has been the least sensitive of my last few cars that had the same feature.

But I've had less issues locking the door, and more unlocking.

More often that I would like, I've had to pull the keyfob out of my pocket because I simply could not get it to unlock by reaching under the door handle.

Hopefully it's just a learning curve thing, cause recently I've been spoiled with the whole not having to see my keys thing. Whenever I use my truck which still requires a key, I'm always pulling at the door handle expecting it to unlock itself.

I’ve noticed the same thing. The comfort access in general isn’t as good on this car as my F22. I set automatic locking when walking away to active to avoid having to push the handle, and it mostly works well. A few times I’ve noticed the car hasn’t locked, but I think my fob has been in my pocket next to my phone. That can cause issues.

Yes, I agree totally - much less sensitive than my 2 prior F22s. Also, highly variable - at least on the driver's side. On the passenger side it always seems to work, regardless of whether I am wearing gloves of bare handed. On the drivers side, sometimes it works when wearing gloves, mostly not; often works bare-handed, but not always.

Frustrating, but not yet worth scheduling an appointment with the service department.

I agree the comfort access touch points are not as sensitive as my other cars, so i simply chose the unlock/lock option on Comfort access settings that unlock as i approach and lock when i walk away. It works amazingly well. It's honestly better so the door handle is no longer an issue for me.

I would do the same but prefer that the car not lock itself when it is in my locked garage. It would require me to carry my key at all times - e.g., even when I want to get in the car to retrieve something hours after pulling in.

I had better luck using my thumb to lock, but lately still have to often try more than once..never had any issues opening door.

I had the auto unlock/lock set for the first two weeks I had the car..was annoying if I just walked into the garage to get something and the car beeped and flashed. When I walked in front of garage to get mail, same thing. I turned it off.

I have a theory that it's less sensitive on purpose to avoid the problem of doors repeatedly locking/unlocking when you are washing the car. Who knows, but I have noticed it as well.

I actually just set it up when I walk away for it to lock. It can also be configured to give an audible beep. When I don't have the key handy, i use my apple watch. I just love all this technology integration

Honesty I just enable the auto lock. I haven't had to manually lock the door since I got the car.
