F-PACE SVR review

Many of you know me from my M3 and X3 reviews and images, and I recently got a hold of a Jaguar F-PACE SVR, which was a lot of fun:

Not as hard core as an X3 M, it's still a lot of fun!

I've always loved these things. Beautiful design and the recently refreshed interior really has made this car so much nicer than it was before. RIP to the JLR Supercharged V8

The V8 sound on these is so awesome. Had me very close to buying one, but due to my ownership experience with it's JLR brother the Range Rover Velar I've sworn off their products.

I did have a few things decide to stop working in my week with it. This would definitely be a lease only car.

I test drove both this and a Range Rover SVR and was way more impressed with the RR. The material finishes in the Jaguar weren’t as good, no full leather dash, cabin felt more cramped. It was fun but it didn’t feel like a $95k car

The dash here was full leather, but there is no hiding the fact that this comes from a car whose price starts in the mid 40s.

I will say the seats were excellent. Better than anything even from the M catalog.

The Range Rover SVR is built on a slightly improved platform as the F Pace SVR (D7a vs D7u), and is in a class above so it doesn't surprise me that materials are better in the RR. Compare the F Pace to the Range Rover Velar and they are both on the lower end of luxury interior materials and quality.

They’re in the same price range used though, first gen SVR vs Fpace SVR. The RR will have better long term resale value too. I just thought there was a substantial difference in the feel of the two cars. Loved the RR, was lukewarm on the Jag given the price.

I’m pretty sure the one I drove had a vinyl dash with stitching to make it look like full leather. Maybe they made it an option on newer ones or it was an option then, I didn’t research it much. Either way it definitely felt cheaper than the RR. Great engine though.

Maybe used, but the RR sport SVR is something like $30k more new. It's like comparing an X3M to an X5M.

They have the same engine and are in the same class of car. Lots of people cross shopping both. I’m talking about the RR sport SVR not the full size one.

We have an actual Jag SVR owner here on the forum, MRichmond .

Maybe he could share his experiences with the car.

The RR Sport SVR is not the same class of car as the F Pace SVR. Just look at the prices for reference. It's also about 5 or 6 inches longer. The F Pace SVR competes with the likes of the X3M Comp and AMG GLC63s. Whereas the RR Sport SVR competes with the X5M Comp, AMG GLE63s, and Audi RSQ8.
