M2 S58 Engine

Silly question, but if the G87 is going to be using a detuned version of the S58 that's currently in the M3/M4, what is involved in un-detuning it? Is it just a matter of a flash, or is it more involved? Are all the engine internals the same, or do they use weaker parts because there's less stock power?

Theoretically should be no different than the detuned S55 that the M2c got. If that's the case than it's just software tuning.

It is the exact same engine, only difference is the tune from the factory (less boost and timing parameters from factory). You can tune it to be as powerful or more powerful than the M3/4
