Apex VS-5RS 19x9.5 Brushed Clear & Continental 265/35 on Brooklyn Grey

My Apex wheels came in a couple days ago (19x9.5 et25) and Discount Tire already had my tires waiting for me, so it was a quick swap. Took a few pics today while they were still relatively clean, as brake dust is horrible on this car! There's other good info on this wheel in the Apex thread, so check it out as well: https://g87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1985999

The fit & finish on these wheels are some of the best I've seen from anyone, and the customer service has been Top Notch! They're only 19.2 lbs. and a total unsprung weight savings of 39.2 lbs. over the OEM 893M wheels and Michelin PS4S tires. It's also nice that no spacers are needed for a flush fit (at least for the ZTK package), and the little taller sidewall is a nice safety blanket.
  • Apex 19x9.5 w/Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 Plus 265/35: 43.6 lbs.
  • BMW 893M 8.5” w/Michelin PS4S 245/35: 51.4 lbs. + 13mm spacer: 51.8 lbs.
  • BMW 893M 9.5” w/Michelin PS4S 255/35: 54.6 lbs. + 13mm spacer: 55.0 lb.s

Apex/tire total weight: 174.4 lbs.
893M/tire total weight w/13mm spacers (1.6 lbs.): 213.6 lbs.
Total unsprung weight savings: 39.2 lbs.

This is a square setup, so the xDrive is happy. I also feel like there's considerably more steering feedback with the wider front tires, especially when you consider some of the trim levels come with 225's up front.

The Gang Up group buy was painless (other than paying off the credit card ) and even the Discount Tire guy, who see's countless wheels day-in day-out, said "These are light as hell." and was impressed with the price.

If you're considering Expert@ApexRaceParts , there should be no hesitations!

I like those a lot. I'd be tempted to get the gold for mine (PBM) in the future

I almost went that route, but the wife wasn't keen on gold. I think it would look good, though!

Looks sooo good with brushed finish! How is the caliper clearance on the front wheels? The blue m240i from Stradale Design has the same 9.5" square fitment as you and the front caliper clearance looks really tight.

Thanks, I’m really happy with the results.

It’s certainly close, but no issues.

Brushed looks so good, so does the 9.5 on the ZTK.

Hope I don't regret going full black! (Although at least my car matches my wardrobe)

I have the stock ZTK setup with the staggered PS4S. Love everything EXCEPT for the steering. I feel like it can wander off center really easily. Did you notice any improvement in that or just the feedback? Also, any extra noise from the power steering pump at low speeds/startup?

I do not recall any issues with the original ZTK tire/wheel package wandering off-center. I would think that's more common with much wider tires, and I do not notice it with this current setup either.

No extra noise at all - that I've noticed anyway. I'd say it's actually quieter.
