Thundernight with Oyster was my exact color combo for my order for months. It's a brilliant choice. The thing was, Shadowline was also a must. Much to my chagrin this spec'd the car with red brake calipers. There was no getting around this to get back to the blue calipers. And as absolutely stunning the TNM looks with Oyster, the red clashed - IMO - horrendously with the purple. I just couldn't do it, and my dream of TNM with Oyster died on the vine.

Yes... yes... I know I could have had them painted or powder coated, but I didn't want to deal with that. I asked four different dealers if they'd make the swap for me with another car on the lot and none of them would. None would pay for powder coating either.

So yeah... long-story-short, thanks to mandated red brake calipers I now own a Melbourne with Cognac and I couldn't be happier. #blessingindisguise

UK is forced to have red callipers now. Which I don’t understand why at all. I’m a little disappointed I can’t have the blue as it suits the thundernight so well.

But I don’t think the red is an awful clash.

For MY2023 (in the USA market anyway), red calipers came with the shadowline package. There was no way to get the standard blue, if you opted for shadowline.
