I was able to get mine delivered 1 month from my production date which was amazing. I also made good money trading in my M240i G42.
One thing to note coming from a M240 G42 , this is a completely different car in every way. I thought only some things would be more aggressive than my M240 G42 and questioned upgrading for the money, but man… I was way wrong. Now I know why full M cars are so special. I’m in the break in period so I can’t push too hard, but one thing I noticed immediately is that the G87 is definately more planted, meaning it doesn’t jump up a lot over bumps even with a stiffer suspension vs my G42. I was a bit scared it would be too firm and bounce all over the place for daily driving, but it actually feels smoother especially in comfort settings compared to my G42, no doubt the M adaptive suspension is way better tuned in the G87 to absorb bumps vs the M240 G42. Pictures and videos do no justice to this car, it has a VERY aggressive wide stance and looks so much better in the flesh. I actually like the looks better than my G42, which I wasn’t expecting TBH. Overall I’m extremely happy I made the upgrade and well worth the money, if you’re on the fence and can make it happen definately go for it! |

Congrats!
All the G8x M cars have insane traction and stick to the road, yes! I think the other thing you'll notice, once you get past break-in, is the top-end power. Where your 240's B58 would be starting to fade as it approaches redline, the S58 will keep pulling hard almost all the way to 7200. And this is the detuned version. Overall, the G8x platform begs you to push it. Push it hard into corners, push it hard to the redline. It's precise and predictable, and has a very responsive front end. It's a car that's easy to drive hard, some people say TOO easy. |

Yea, I can already tell driving slow it’s “on edge” and wants to go all out, doing my best not to until 1200 miles haha |

So what I was reading and saw on AutoTopNL video as well is that the fronts are stiffer than the M4 M3, but the rears are softer. This gives it the turn in it has.

Getting ready to trade in my G42 for a G87 as well (next week I hope!), so I really appreciate any comparisons. Unlike you I stuck to the same color, BSM!
Hope my M2 has the same ride feel as you experience on the MP HAS. If you don't mind my asking can you share with me what you got at trade in on your G42? Would love to figure out if I have some more room to negotiate. |
