Because RACECAR
Coming from the JDM scene and especially owning an Rx7 and falling in love with the time attack aero cars... besides Jackie, is anyone else developing functional aero pieces? Was interesting to see the effects of the lower cooler under the car, and I'm excited to see how that's dealt with... maybe relocation?
I have high hopes for the PHD exhaust/diffuser setup, and it reminds me of one of my favorite Rx7 cars by Dream Racing. Maybe it's a little extreme, but with the rear diffuser removed, it has so much room for things to get wild!

Are you looking for functionality or esthetics? Like are you going to track the car heavily and chase seconds, competitively? Or is this more like the look? Because there's definitely going to be more options for looks, the car is still very new so unfortunately, not that many options for either honestly. But it will get there.

I won't be competing with the car; it's more so the performance first and looks second. I don't like non-functional aero, looks without performance consideration. Verus has been the first I've seen with a splitter/lip with some testing behind it, I want to make the car more aggressive such as a swan neck wing maybe from them or Stradale design, but don't want to upset the balance I want to improve if anything.

If not competing withbthe car on the track, what are you looking for in terms of performance (different avenues depending on your uses). Also, with respect to aero, same applies...what you deem as functional may actually not be depending on your uses. Just by showing a maxed out track race car makes me wonder if you have a plan/direction. Just saying... |

I mean, it was mostly an eye-catching picture to show.
I think without any type of CAD or Windtunnel testing anything I come up with is just theory. but I do have an idea of what I'd like to do... The front splitter, probably by Verus or custom with a blank from AJhartman, for example. I like the Alpha-N front fenders and hood, The hood certainly assists in downforce and I can say based on other articles the fenders would be functional too. Some type of side splitter/skirt design, just to assist airflow. Rear end wise, I like the direction PHD is going, I envision something like an AJhartman universal rear diffuser on there - super aggressive, probably not something I would go for but I think I'd love the look. I really love the swan neck wing style, Stradale Designs looks really good and claims to have some modeling to back the wing choice. How all of this would work together? No idea. The concepts are solid I think, but I'm not that deep in the aero world as you can tell.
