Stock Wheel Black Paint Scratches
I have the stock Bi-Color wheels, and have noticed the black paint scratches pretty easily when cleaning with even a microfiber. Has anyone else noticed this?

NO issues at all with a cloth or micro-fibre mit when cleaning. They seem durable. I wash by hand-- never an issue. Ive my wheels ceramic coated as well.

DB actually mentions not using MF on the wheels. After ceramic I just use damp paper towels no issue. If they get bad enough let me know there's a local shop that will repair scratched/ scuffed / damaged wheels I came across after I had an issue with a previous shop damaging a forged wheel. After they were done it actually looked brand new better than before the damage even. And they are pretty reasonable surprisingly. But usually means losing the car for about 2 days.

Who is DB? Why would you not use microfiber towels on ceramic coated rims (or any other rims)? I have used Vossen/Adams spray detail and microfiber to polish up the rims and never had any issues. I sure wouldn't use paper towels, that is actually abrasive to any finish. |

Anyone else seeing fine scratches on the black paint on the stock wheels? After 3.5 months of cleaning every 1 - 1.5 weeks, lots of fine scratches on the paint. I should have done ceramic right away. These wheels are a nightmare.

This may be due ceramic coating right away with the rest of the car but am not seeing this on the black oem wheels. Just washed and used the Vossen / Adams wheel detailer recommended above for the first time and when applying/ wiping off I was not seeing any. Sounds like an excellent excuse to expedite a wheel upgrade though 😁

Anything used to clean your wheels should always be dedicated to wheels only and never used on any other part of the car.

I have seen them on my x3mc wheels, and make sure your brush or towel are in good condition. I put a little spray wax on my wheels and they go away.
