which mode should I choose to charge and maintain our g87 M2’s battery ?

did I choose right mode ? I chose both car icon and AGM icon mode .

Something should I be careful when using CTEK battery tender to charge the car ?

My Z06 sits on a CTEK all year, no issues.

It's a smart charger and very safe, you choose wisely. See here for more info on the MXS 5.0.

I have 4 of these going at the same time.
It’s a good unit

Choose the car icon and AGM if your battery is AGM

It's a BMW, you don't want "AMG mode".

AGM is the correct selection.

Excellent eye & great catch there. I read right past it too until you brought it up. I've got the CTEK 7002 unit & it's been rock solid flawless since day one. There's a reason hand built exotics come standard with one of these. Money well spent & it can bring batteries back from the dead. Usually I get 8-9 years easily out of car batteries. But only because of the CTEK unit.

Some good info.

BMW 'recommends' charging the battery with 14.8V. CTEK 'Car + AGM' mode charges at 14.7V which is acceptable. The battery in the M2 is AGM, not Li-ion (see second pic below).

My M2 is not my daily. Should I consider putting it on a charger? I would think the longest I might go without driving might be 2 weeks. It all depends on the weather.

@Tag is that the official part number for the G87 battery? The spec sheet I think mentions a 90 AH battery, not 92 AH.

I would put it on a tender if it’s going to sit unused that long.

Yes, that’s the OEM battery. I ran a G87 VIN and that’s what came up.

I have mine placed very similarly for the last 6 years without any issues.

Funny they say that when they make a wall mounting bracket for it.
