I use a Noco Genius (Genius 5) too. What I've also done is purchased the X-Connect M10 eyelet terminal accessory so that rather than opening the hood and putting the alligator clips on the terminal posts, I can just connect the tender using the X-Connect (I do have to open the hood to do this) and snake the cord from the Noco through a gap by the windshield wipers.
The eyelet terminal accessory has M10 rings so you just unscrew (Torx) the posts in the engine bay, throw the rings on and screw the posts back in. Clean setup. |

I have a couple of Noco older models (G3500 & G7200) and a newer Genius 2, they have been working fine via the X-connect to the terminals under the hood. On an older E86, I use a CTEK via cigarette adaptor plug since that plug does not sleep.
I have experienced 1 failed G3500 in 8 years but that unit was used in a parked vehicle in the driveway, so there's fair amount of exposure to the element. |

Corvette, Ford, many others use them, but, with their name on them. Same unit. Every car in Jay Leno's massive collection has a CTEK plugged in to it in his hanger/showrooms. $100 or under doing on line shopping is not too much for this kind of quality. IMHO. |
