Any IT Guys in here?
So I have something weird going on. For some reason I can not access this site when I am on my home wifi. On my laptop is say “403 Forbidde” and “You don’t have permission to access this resource”. I have the same issue using the app on my phone but what is weird is when I turn off wifi, the app works.

It I am using this site without wifi on. As soon as I turn it on my phone I can access it. It was perfectly fine last night. I will contact my ISP this weekend just to make sure.

Edit: the site does have intermittent issues (it's slow, fails to respond, etc), but as I mentioned, a 403 response is an active refusal. I suppose the site COULD respond with 403s for everyone due to a configuration issue. But now, site's behaving OK. Note that there are many reasons for a site to give a 403, including too large a request from the browser (eg, you are somehow sending a very, very large cookie). Might be worth trying incognito to rule that out, since it's easily done. Last edited by canDO_Stef; 06-14-2024 at 12:31 PM.. |

Similar issue. I updated the app thinking that would help. Gives me an error that I’m not connected to internet.

If you ever want to rule out your computer, try a different browser or try your browsers in incognito mode/private browsing mode. This will rule out a cookie or browser setting problem. One step further would be to try a VPN if you have one. If the above doesn't work but then as soon as you connect to a VPN does work, then its something with your ISP.

A VPN should get around all of that. |

I connected my pc directly from my modem….bypassing my router and the site worked. So that means something going on with my google router and have been emailing them to figure out what the issue is. This is very frustrating.

Tested with my phone connecting via cellular as well as using VPN from my computer. Sometimes it worked while other times it didn't, just like I was experiencing before. What I saw was some connections partially connect and then timeout while others are unable to connect at all. On other occasions you could connect fine, and everything worked before it started acting up again. This can literally be anything on bimmerpost.com from their server/s, database, networking, etc. Everyone here has chimed in over the past several weeks complaining about the website's intermittent issues. You might have missed it but a few days ago they had a banner that said the site was down for maintenance and that it would be back in 30m, it was down for hours which tells me they were probably aware of some issue and are trying to fix it. TLDR: It's not you, it's them. |

Bouncing modem wouldn't hurt. I have seen stale / bad DNS from providers trigger nonsense and bouncing can reset. Testing other browsers in incognito/private mode also rules out local browser cache issues as others have said. But also sometimes the site is just intermittent lol.
