An awesome car. It alternated with my Boxster as my daily driver (60 mile per day work commute) and as my road trip car.

Very comfortable car. Around town or on the highway or on mountain roads that were very conveniently located to me while I lived in northern CA.

But oh the running costs... Gas mileage wasn't that much worse than the Boxster, but everything else cost more money.

Rear seats were useless for passengers but I seldom even had a passenger in the car with me let alone more than 1 passenger.

If there was a good Porsche dealer in my area I'd probably have a Porsche. Probably a Cayman S but I'm not current on Porsche models and I might opt for a modern 911.

But I really enjoy my 2023 M2. It is not a Porsche but it is a very nice car and I don't feel I'm missing out any by having the M2 and no Porsche.
LOL…regarding the cost, yeah it csn get frightening. When I was considering a Porsche I was on the forums asking questions about running costs as it was a concern of mine. On member, very nice guy, told me “some items could cost as much as if it were a Honda…but others can be breathtakingly expensive”.

The “breathtakingly expensive” still sticks with me lol.

It’s not so bad I think the worst part is having to get your servicing done at Porsche to extend the warranty each year. When mine needs something like brakes etc I just get them at an independent using genuine parts. My 991.2 GTS averages to around 2.5k GBP per year including the annual Porsche warranty renewal.

Since OP is in the UK I’d go for an M3/4 and get the Xdrive over the m2 or 992. Unless you can get a C4S.

Space and price aside the only thing I can think of the m2 does better than a 992 C2S is going sideways it’s a lot more accessible to skid about which is a big part of the reason I got mine.

Would you please speak to the comfort level of the 991.2 GTS relative to the M2? I have back issues - not severe, mostly inflammation - and it’s the main factor that pushes me back to M.

991.2S is a more comfortable ride to me than the G87. The G87 is definitely quieter though.

I can only speak for the M2 comfort seats, I have the 18 way adaptive sports seats in the GTS.

GTS seat is more adjustable so I can get more comfortable in it as can the wife. However the padding is alot less than the M2 comfort seat so you definitely feel alot more of the road. Ride comfort wise the gts is less thumpy but I think this then negated by the harder seat as more vibrations travel into your butt.

Getting in and out would be much easier in the M. You sit quite a bit higher even after lowering it’s still much easier.

Hope this helps.

Was wondering what do they charge for the annual porsche warranty renewal? Its up to 10 years from manufacturer date right?
