G87 build quality compared to M240i
I watched a video on the KIES Motorsport YouTube channel a while back, where they lifted a G80 M3 and an M340i to compare the build quality and components between the two cars. I couldn’t identify all the parts, but you could clearly see thicker metal components and higher-quality reinforcements in the M3. These seemed designed to handle more wear and tear.
Does anyone know if the same difference applies when comparing the G87 M2 to the M240i? |

They are built in the same factory. The M2 has more chassis bracing.

There may be design considerations that improve the chassis dynamics, but the quality is exactly the same. They are built on the same line in Mexico. The M3/4, 3/4 series and i4 are all built on the same line in Munich. Any perceived difference in build quality is imaginary. Do not confuse build quality, with quality of materials in the build. Those are different, even in the same line. An i4 M50 is higher quality than i4 eDrive35.

No. The M2 is way worse. They actually use recycled tuna cans to build it. Don't buy one.
