I see you’re still trying to deflect from your previous comments devaluing other members of society for their line of work. Have you considered swimming all the way to Mexico and picking up your own car by your bootstraps? The multi billion dollar international shipping conglomerates and their stockholders would super duper really appreciate it.

All I'm reading is that the strike is over until after my car will be delivered.

There’s always the chance that the M2 could approximately double in price for cars arriving in the US after late January, let alone any delay from dock worker strikes: https://fortune.com/2024/09/25/trump...exico-elected/

I’m glad I don’t have to worry now about east coast orders clogging up west coast ports

Watch how fast they expand the SC plant or build one in Alabama like MB did.

As there would be counter-vailing tariffs from other countries, the SC plant would be more inward looking (domestic US production) as opposed to expanded, but I can't envision they would keep the same model variety that they bring in from other countries at present. Most likely hybrid SUVs and some car based EVs from SC as the focus, then M-cars from elsewhere at a price premium due to tariffs, as the volumes are not high enough to have multiple production lines at an efficient price point. |

Probably worth keeping the SLP line running for the G87 production at about 70% volume for ROW until the planned end-of-life as the plant investment there is already done, though. |

i think yeah, they kill 2 series coupe for US immediately. realizing it creates a hole in the lineup, they do the cheapest option which is offer de-contented 3 and 4 series models for the US from other global factories. they have M3 and M4 "Pure" models (similar to what they did in Aussie land with the F chassis) that are cloth, manually adjustable seats, cloth door cards, slicktop, no 360 degree camera, no ambient lighting, no rear HVAC, door pulls instead of handles, less sound deadening, reuse cast wheels intended for the G87 or other models. they price it at $70,500 USD which is probably around what the average G87 sells for. they offer base 330 and 430 models in similar configurations, coming from either germany, brazil, or thailand. the market goes positively BONKERS for them, they sell more than they ever dreamed of. M2 dies quietly, not renewed for the next chassis group, and those of us who hung onto our orphan, mexican made M2s are a footnote in a car and driver article in 15 years. automotive PR lapdogs, i mean- journalists - mindlessly parrot that the death of the M2 means nothing and was killed for good reason. "let's face it, the G87 was styled too oddly, weighed too much, featured unoptimized gearboxes, and was generally a disappoint to enthusiasts around the world. somehow, it was also the best selling M car every year it was in production." the irony will be lost on them.
