Seen this one a few times, Rick. Another good Eastwood movie. Mario Van Peebles is hilarious.

My next one in line is Sisu, Esteban. Probably close my eyes to a few of the cut throat bits but smile in this first scene when two nazi Stuka pilots, who took pleasure in dive bombing fleeing refugee women and children, get their just deserts from Aatami.

Haven't seen this one, Rick. It's now on my watch list. Looks brutally good!

I rewatched "Interstellar" last night with my niece, and I can't get one particular thought out of my mind.

If the population is dying due to the increasing dust/nitrogen/blight, everyone is farming, NASA's disbanded, they've retconned the textbooks to say that the lunar landings were a hoax, and there's no more high technology (only old Latitude laptops and ten year old cars, apparently).....

How in the HELL did the teeny, tiny "all that remains" NASA manage to launch *multiple* supply rockets up the gravity well containing materials and (presumably) workers to build their big-arsed-not-landable-on-a-planet-but-wormhole-capable ship (the Endurance) as well as a dozen "Lazarus" rockets with the Ranger spacecraft sitting on top of them......

..... without a SINGLE PERSON ON EARTH noticing huge rockets blasting off all over the place from their secret abandoned NORAD location?????

Watched this last night. I give it 3/5 mostly for an overall scary atmosphere and continually sense of dread and unsettling. But too many unanswered questions. Still, ti's the season for horror.

Finally watched Blade Runner 2049. Amazing story, real nice visuals and loved the synthwave soundtracks.

Might be the rum talking, but does it seem that there is more horror movies being made as a percentage now.....does it have anything to do with the bleak outlook globally? Not trying to turn this discussion political, just an observation fuelled by rum in case I didn't make it clear already. I'm not really a fan of horror. I was looking for something to watch last night and going through what's new/available on my usual streaming services and they all seem to be predominantly horror. End or rant, back for a top up. Cheers.

I couldn't continue watching this film and gave up, just Nolan's imagination running riot.

This.... has potential, but is only playing in limited release, so it might be a little hard to find outside of a large metropolitan area.

It won the 2024 Palme D'or at Cannes and the reviews have been universally off the frelling hook.

Anora on IMDB.

It's different I'll give it that, not a sequel etc. Worth a shot.

So, my wife and I watched "Beetlejuice" last night (Michael Keaton *had* to be on serious amounts of drugs!) and tonight we watched "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice".

It was fun to watch them back to back. We both thought the first one was a bit better-- the second one had its moments, but it sort of dragged towards the end, and the actual ending was more or less "Time to end the movie-- put some *serious* Burton Weirdness in and call it a day."

Worth watching, though. And after watching both of them? I can definitively say that Tim Burton should be locked in a psych ward and the key thrown away. That dude's brain is.... NOT normal.

Woman of the Hour was quite good and it helps that it was based on a true story.

I went and saw Venom on Thursday. They told me I didn't need to know anything to watch it, but there were obviously some past I missed out on.
Since I pre-gamed 2 Jack/diet, then bought an Old Fashion in a bottle there, I had an enjoyable afternoon. Some of the action scenes just had too much going on to even see it all.

The Minister and I watched "Wolfs" a few nights ago.

Huge, massive plot holes..... but that being said, you're really watching the interaction of Clooney and Pitt. The plot was simply a framework to hang watching two masters of their craft bounce off of each other.

It's not going to win an Oscar, but it was fun to watch.... with a bottle of bubbles at hand.

I am VERY impressed with any sequel that matches the entertainment quality of the original. That is the case of this movie, which I consider the first, one of the scariest and unsettling horror movies in years!

If you're looking for a good Horror film for Halloween, look no further...

I haven't been able to watch the first Smile yet, haven't found the correct combo of time, quiet, and mindset.

Try watching on Halloween if you have the time. I'm sure it's free now and it is a good scary movie.

Some ppl weren't so hot on 'Wolfs' so that lowered my expectations; I thought it was good but the 1st half was better than the 2nd.

I was disappointed, I felt like the Pitt and Clooney just called it in if that makes sense.
