BMC drop in filters & sound

Looking to increase the intake sound... For those with BMC drop in filters did you experience any noticeable difference?

TIA

BMC (not BMS aka Bergwr Motor Sports)...a little bit of sound but they are more for helping to breathe better with a touch of added performance. You will need to remove the oem charcoal filters as well as the oem aire filter when replacing with the BMC.

Deafinitely Breathing improvements with you also remove the charcoal filter but not much on the sound side of things.

If you want some sounds a engine bay intake would be your best bet.

I wish you guys would consider doing the OEM style with vents in ABS plastic.

I did BMC air filters and charcoal delete at the same time, so can't say which contributed most, but there's definitely a butt dynamometer improvement from those mods. I suspect any HP benefit of an intake is mostly the better filters and charcoal delete.

For sound you'll need to do actual intakes.

Cost aside the carbon is better at dissipating heat compared to the thicker plastic.

Spot on.

I'm typically in the camp that favors power/drivability over sound, favoring the less is more approach.

We've had builds on our dyno make well over 700whp with stock airboxes/BMCs. If looking for noise, that's pretty much all intakes will provide as most power gains with intakes are contributed to the filtering media.

I agree wholeheartedly but will add that with a custom live tune (on street or dyno) the Eventuri is worth the cost (to those who can afford it). I am fully built on a custom stage 2 and trans tune (done at an airport runway) with 3 maps, the extreme being an e40 "kill" (of course I seem to keep it solely on that map ).

I don't think that won't make a difference. I am thinking about the cost.

if you really want to increase sound you need open air intakes. running Project Gamma Front Mount. if you havent heard or driven in a car with front mount and some extra boost your really missing out

I thought the front mount made it loud for people outside the car and if you really want to hear it inside the car you need them closer to the driver and open box

Thanks everyone for your insights on this topic! Based upon what I'm hearing here, I'm now trending towards the BMC/charcoal delete route as I already run a single midpipe with a valve controller for sound.
