For those that are looking for performance value - it is impossible to beat the F8x cars. They still feel so capable and raw compared to G8x while much cheaper and provide more utility than 911.

The 911 really shines dynamically. The handling and feel is just on a completely different level vs the M cars. It’s really impossible to see just looking at a spec sheet. I had full leather interior on my 911 T with the 18 way seats. The build quality overall was better than F80 but certainly not twice the the price better.

Before i got the T, i test drove the Base, S and GTS variants including 991.1 GTS. The T is tuned to be more direct, raw and performance oriented by Porsche which you can only tell by experience. The car is also much louder inside than base Carrera. The .1 GTS will feel slower with NA motor but sounds MUCH better.

The 992.2 T will do very well as it has some cool available colors, unique interior etc. It also comes standard with many features like Sport PASM suspension, Rear steering, sport exhaust etc. I think it was smart for Porsche to separate it as Manual only and make it the dedicated enthusiast model. Also the 992.2 has the 992.1 GTS turbos and larger 6 piston brakes from 992.1 S. With a tune, these will be putting down insane power.

As far as price - you can get LC500, M2/M4 or Corvette Z06 for less but those brands are way less prestigious.
New AMG-GT 63 and SL63 are about $200k
AM Vantage is $250k
The 992.1 T felt great when I tracked it last month (albeit it was the pdk and not the manual). So I think when I am ready to buy it'll probably come down to that or a preowned 992.1 GTS. But that's still a few years away.

As for the other options - LC500 sounds incredible and looks exotic but it drives like a boat. I have a g80 m3 now which I'm quite happy with, so will ride that out for a few more years. Z06 does a lot right but I just can't see myself in a Corvette (plus I need rear seats. The AMG-GT/SL I've heard the interior quality isn't up to par. The Aston is getting out of my budget.

I’ve had 997 GTS, 991.1 GTS, and 992.1 GTS. I’d rank the 992 third on that list, and a distant third when considering the price difference. Save yourself pile of cash and get an older one.

He is a different buyer with a different priority set than you. He sorta wants it a little more GT, a 97 would drive him nuts, it's an ox cart compared to a 992.

He’ll figure it out after spending all that money. It was a good car. It wasn’t worth $175k. The 997 is my favorite of the three. Haven’t driven a 991.2 yet.

Not a fan of anything past the 991.1 generation TBH. Well, maybe the S/T, thats a cool car. It's also north of a quarter mil.

Voted with my wallet recently.
