New Member waiting to post in X3 forums

Apparently, I need to wait to be able to post something in the forums since I am a new member. I have a question now, maybe I can start it here and move/restart in the X3 forum later when I have posting permissions?

I have a 2012 X3 M, 35i. I just cleaned my throttle body, and it is idling rough, so I need to reset the TB adaptation to relearn or drive it for a while. I was looking to ensure all lines were hooked up again and I found a hard plastic line about 1/4" in diameter that is open on the top end. It is about 3 inches long and sits vertical just under the TB intake tube at the curve leading up to the TB. It has a rubber hose on the bottom end at the frame. I do not see another hose end that may have slipped off. Is this supposed to be open, like an air intake to the emissions system, or is there a hose somewhere that I am not seeing that should be connected to it?
