What mods do you have planned for your UK G87 M2

Given a number of us are on the verge of taking delivery in the UK I thought it might be interesting to start a thread to cover any planned mods. I'll start with:

Stock car: Toronto Red with bi-colour wheels, manual, comfort pack and drivers pack.

Mods:
Full XPEL ceramic PPF Inc buckets
Swapping Cup2s for PS4Ses
M Performance HAS with 12mm rear spacers and 15mm front
TRE ID001 Spoiler

I'm also helping out Zunsport as they're using my car to create the mesh bumper grilles.

What do you have planned?

Nice!

Have you got a price/supplier for the HAS & spacers, fitted? Do you foresee any insurance issues?
Talking of insurance, I read on pistonheads the other day about a chap getting a claim refused because he hadn’t declared the ppf he’d had installed…
Interested to hear how you get on with Zunsport, I have their grilles on my Boxster, another car with huge vulnerable radiators all over the front end.
What does the spoiler look like? Google didn’t help.
Cheers!

I will probably ask the question re PPF when I get some insurance quotes as I'd argue it should help the insurance exposure BUT I also appreciate that it's more cost to cover the replacement in the event of an accident.

Yes I got the HAS bought and paid for and ready to install and the spoiler can be found on the AutoID website. https://autoid.co/products/bmw-m2-2-...e-2021-g42-g87

I'll declare the HAS when I get the insurance but it's OEM so shouldn't be an issue hopefully.

Spoiler is spot on, not too big & shouty, but not a bit nondescript like oem. Good find.

Ok if I just copy everything you’re doing?

I'm keeping a close on eye this particular mod! How long do you think it'll take them to have something out for the public?

It's a good few weeks as they want to scan the car, then perform a test fit a few weeks later and then I guess it goes in to production assuming it fits OK.

If anyone is close to Derby, they have an M2 Dealer demo in with a lot of mods/extra bits. Gives a good idea of a look.

Placed some diff angles on the main photo thread.

Thanks for sharing. There are elements that I like but it still feels a little too 'shouty' for my taste :-)

I think it looks good but i would probably leave off the side flick bits (on the arches) and to save a few pounds i would give the M Performance Exhaust a miss.

If i didn't need a more practical family car i would love to get into one of these. Well done to all of those out there that are starting to take delivery

Im not sure if this is the case for all UK spec cars, but the huge gaping holes in the front air dam seems to be inviting disaster in the shape of road debris in to fark over the radiators.

Has anyone added any sort of mesh protection?

I agree - there are some elements that are ok (spoiler, front splitter/winglets) but the rest looks like aftermarket tat. The side skirt blades in particular look like a real debris trap, and not exactly robust. I looked at a white one and although the contrast was nice, it just said “chav” to me.

Just picked up my G87 in SBM, and what a fabulous monster. I had a concern that downsizing from the X3 M40i would feel odd, but I absolutely love it.

First mod is a full set of Zunsport radiator grille protectors, and a custom set of all-weather mats. Unexciting, I know….

Will run for a bit into early winter to see what grip levels are like, but might need to get winter wheels/tyres - I have my eye on a rather fetching dark bronze set…

If you haven't already bought the Zunsport grills, use code PHT15 to get a discount :-)

Thanks for that - I got a 10% discount as a new account, but I’m going to get the oil cooler grille as well after reading some horror stories on the M3/M4 forums - will come in handy!

So.... that's the full set of Zunsport grilles installed, and I've just pulled fuse 203 with the valves open in Sport+ - hopefully won't annoy the neighbours too much

Further update… bought the TRE-01 CF spoiler from AutoID, took about an hour all in to install, pretty straightforward. Didn’t have any fishing line so used a plastic PPF scraper under the OEM spoiler after I’d heated the glue with a hairdryer - came off pretty easily though I had to work it a bit and ended up with some very light scuffing on the paint - not an issue as it’s completely covered by the new spoiler. Scraped off the thicker glue residue with a trim removal tool, then buffed off the rest with a toffee wheel. A cordless drill on lower rpm’s does the job fine without overheating the clear coat. Cleaned the remainder of the glue with isopropyl alcohol, then polished the entire boot lid with Bilt Hamber cleanser/polisher before a final wipe with alcohol on the areas where the 3M tape makes contact. Spoiler fits perfectly, and IMO is what it should’ve had as standard from the factory.

Next job is a black M2 badge also from AutoID..
