No issues. My dealer knows to fully align the car before I pick it up. Factory alignment is just enough to get it shipped not precise as it should be. They dont have the time.

My car got the famous G87 slightly off alignment. I heard a guy say the dealer aligned his car for free at 10k miles so maybe I'll try that lol.

Also my speakers crackle on certain songs at certain volumes. My dealer took note of this at break in and I will have them take care of it at my 10k service, which is soon.

The interior door handles make a sticky sound when you pull on them to close them. Apparently all G87's do this because of the design of the door handle, the speaker is probably getting looser every time, which is annoying.

Mechanically, no issues.

huh, weird. ive noticed my stereo broke in fabulously. i was very worried about this on day 1. but now it sounds much better than i expected it would.

I am now at the end of year 1 with my G87. for context, this is my daily all year round in NE. a touch over 16k miles, going for my fourth oil change next friday. zero mechanical issues, zero oil burned. perfect so far in that regard. quibbles as follows:

+the climate control being hidden on touchscreen sucks a lot

+ive noticed that if i have the back seats folded, my driver seat will not go all the way into its memory position even if it says "position reached" (no, its not blocking the movement, just leaning). then under acceleration i will feel the seat slide back half an inch or so. minor, yes, but annoying.

+car refuses to switch between bluetooth devices. just won't do it. carplay cuts in and out sometimes. the BMW native iDrive isn't bad, its just all very annoying.

really minor stuff. very happy with it so far.

Going on 18 months (April 2023) and ~10,500 miles my M2 has been problem free.

Some complaints...

I agree with two_three_two regarding his opinion of the climate control access requiring touch screen access.

The auto climate control doesn't appear to provide auto control of the cabin ventilation fan speed. I notice this to some degree but a frequent passenger in the car notices it big time and is constantly fiddling with her side's temperature setting and vents and even asking me to adjust up or down the cabin fan speed to deal with her being in the sun or out of the sun and thus needing more or less cooling or more or less heating as I drive.

I have noticed the driver side and passenger side seat belts don't always retract when the person undoes the belt. The passenger side seat belt being loose then rattles and more than once to save my sanity have had to pull over and fiddle with belt to get it to fully retract and stop the rattling.

The driver side seat belt being loose can have it sag and end up having the door close on it. So I have to check the seat belt fully retracts when I get out of the car but before I close the door.

I like to alternate between keys to spread the wear and tear out. But one key is associated with me and the other key to associated with guest. I can't have both keys assigned to me, to my id.

When I use the guest key if I want to use the NAV system I have to take the time to sign in using my ID (PIN). Have to sign in to use my car's features. That's insane.

I have been unable to connect -- if that is right word -- the car's garage door opener to my garage door. I have to use the hand held door opener I carry with me that I use to open the garage door -- there is no other access to the garage other than through the large garage door -- to open the garage door when I return from a trip. If I could get the car's garage door opener to work I could use that to open the garage door when I return and put the hand held door opener in my jacket pocket and leave it there.

Almost 12 months (11/28) & I have 16,700 mi (will be over 17k Monday morning). The only thing that irritates me about the car is the iDrive system. I also have a '22 X3MC with iDrive 7, and previously had a '22 330e with iDrive 7. I feel the previous version was much better and had a lot less bugs. I have issues daily with the iDrive & Carplay.

Can't stand the auto climate control & the fact that there are not heated seat buttons. Mechanically, the car has been solid. I really like it, but am not gaga over it. Already looking at something new in the near future.

Only 5 months and 2k miles but no issues thus far except a couple rattles that come and go so haven't been able to debug them (and not a big enough deal to care much).

Car is a dream, particularly after CDV delete, clutch stop, and SSK.

Just went over 5100 miles today and have had the car since this January. Honestly I have put on way more miles than I thought i would. Having a near snow less winter this year contributed to the extra driving.

I have had zero issues just a couple glitchy things. Sometimes after going into M1 or M2 the icon will not persist on my gauge cluster, I've had two or three instances with an issue connecting to android auto but it seems way less problematic than what I've heard about carplay connectivity, I don't like that both keys dont connect to my ID, but that's about it.

I do have days though where I go driving and can't get loose anywhere due to traffic or I punch it up to 90 or so and feel like I'm a menace to society. It must be my middle aged instincts telling me to not be an idiot and then I question why do I have a sports car?? I have been thinking about getting a slightly used X5 M50i as they scoot and they are so much more practical for the family. It's an ongoing battle with cars.

in the context of the thread: it is telling that so many people are complaining about software issues. high class problem!

otherwise: i maintain that if you dont have a solid daily usecase for the car then its easy to dismiss it for something more practical. i thoroughly enjoy mine but wonder if an X3M wouldnt be more applicable to my life.

Same software issues with the X3M & a harsher ride. Speaking of software issues, I found out today that if the auto climate program is active, you can't manually activate the heated seats. It was 40 degrees this morning, and again my heated seats & steering wheel did not activate. I went into the climate menu to see the heated seats were set to medium but not on. The only way I could get them to turn on was to turn it to high. I didn't want the seat on high, but if I hit medium or low, they turned off. The only way to get the seat setting on low was to turn off the auto program.

I also noticed a difference this weekend between my M2 & wife's '22 X3MC with both vehicles set on the same temperature (74 degrees), her vehicle blew very noticeably cold air while mine has never blown cold air, but more luke warm. Is never really bothered me & seems to keep the interior at the temp I select, I just noticed the air coming from the vents in the X3 to be much colder.

I felt like this in my veloster n, then I went and bought a much faster car. I sold it to myself by reiterating my promise to actually track both cars, that and always wanting to own an m car and finally being in a place to afford checking that and “silly power rwd” car off my checklist. That said, I feel like the only time I can push the boundaries of the car (or more likely my comfort) it is either a weekday at least an hour drive away or closer to home in the middle of the night. Given the demo of the car, I assume we are both middle aged and feel more than a little silly staying up just to hoon around Tacoma at 2am. That said, come spring I am going to do a track day in the veloster and work my way up to the m2. I have a lot of time racing RWD cars in sim, but putting my foot down in corners scares me until I have a better feel for how the back steps out. No idea how I’ll feel about it come spring, but it seems like a good idea now.

Yes. The older I get the less comfortable I am breaking the law on public roads. Now when I do it I find open roads away from others but still it isn't a good practice. I do love driving on a track and have had a chance to drive some incredible cars on a few occasions but never my own. I don't think I will ever track my M2.

My buddies and I really like doing the Exotics Racing/SpeedVegas thing where you can pick from cars like a GT3RS, Lambo, Ferrari, Corvette, R8. Then you have an instructor in the car with you that ensures you don't fly off the track. It can be pricey but it's only a once every other year type of thing. It definitely satisfies the craving to drive fast and I don't have to worry about my own car.

That sounds like fun, from the other direction I had a lot of fun before parting out my sim. They can get very realistic when you start pouring money and time into them. I got fast enough in iRacing during the pandemic I got to race real world drivers pretty regularly including, on one special occasion 2 hours after crashing out of the Italian Gran Prix, Max Verstappen. We only saw him for a handful of corners, dude is really fast. I recommend enthusiasts find time to play with a high end sim, loads cheaper and much safer for us middle aged retired hooligans.
