G42 M240i Windshield Sunshade
Hello fellow G42 members. Only 4 weeks and counting until I can pick up my car.
I'd like to ask if anyone has purchased a sunshade for your G42 as yet, and if a G20 or other model size fits. I was looking at Heatshield or Covercraft. Please send photos and advise. Thank you |

Absolutely Covercraft. More expensive than most, but an excellent fit for the G42 and good quality for the price. In addition, their shade is rigid and unfolds vs. a more flexible style that rolls. I have found that the Covercraft version that's rigid and unfolds, is much easier to set in the windshield from the driver's seat, I don't need to lean all the way over to the passenger side to fully open the Covercraft. The roll-up style requires a more difficult and more time consuming task to set the shade in the windshield. I like things easy, quick, and simple, no issues or drama. I chose to pay the higher cost for convenience, etc... just my critique. Good luck with your choice.

Reviving this old thread. I am searching for a quality sunshade for my 2025 M2.
When it comes to sunshades, all I see recommended are those from Covercraft and Heatshield in various threads. For some reason, this item from BMW never comes up: https://www.getbmwparts.com/oem-part...de-82115b43546 I am wondering whether anyone has used it? If yes, please share your experience. |

Galaxy auto shield best brand of sun shades. Priced appropriately for what is literally a piece of reflective foam. Fits tight to the edges and stores/rolls easily. Haven't tried specifically for the 240 yet, but it has been great in all my other cars and my family's cars.

I just got it and to be honest it's a little large for my M240i, the last small fold has to be tucked in on both sides. |

Can anyone confirm if the Covercraft 2024 M240i xDrive sunshade will fit the 2025 model? When I emailed them, they said that no older model would fit the 2025, as they haven't created one for it yet. Wasn't sure if someone has tried here yet.

I can't confirm it but I don't see why it wouldn't fit - same car (windshield, dash, etc.).
BTW, due to the wide dash/touchscreen on my '24, I would have picked something more flexible because the Covercraft that I have been using is very stiff and hard to get unfolded and then folded in the tight confines of the dash area on the '23-'25 cars. I usually drag or bump the right side of the touchscreen getting it into and out of the dash/windshield area - not sure how that will work out in the long run. However, it does seal very well and it looks fantastic both inside and outside the car. Always tradeoffs................ |

Great i hadn't gotten around to it yet since it's going to be winter and I've been focusing on other areas of the car.
