Used Market Prices

Seeing a lot of 2023 cars sitting in the low 60s range with one outlier still available at 57k.

Seems like dealers are holding on to these prices but with the 25s being released, prices should be dropping further.

Has anyone see these go for low to mid 50s?

Low to mid 50s? You can just barely get an F87 competition for that price. Only way you're getting a G87 that low is if something is wrong with it or it has a ton of miles.

Would be pretty stupid to pay low 60s when you can get a new one for same money. Tons of inventory

I’m assuming you are all talking dollars here…..my ‘23 car was high 40s, but in £. It was a £66K car, so has taken a nice tumble price wise. Seems to be an absolute bargain to me.

It will be interesting to see what happens to used prices if tariffs kick in.

Still have my money on tariffs are not happening or major carve outs.

But if they do happen you can expect 2 series to become history in the US, at least for this generation. They will move the g20.

Not quite sure the point of your post. Are you looking to buy and wondering when is the "right" time to buy? Or are you a baller on a "budget"?

I don't do the baller on a budget thing, I just want a fun daily that can also fit a 3 year old and all the kid accessories that come along with a toddler.

I should have been clearer with my question. I want to understand the market for g87s bc the current numbers do not make sense to me. Even being post Covid with some of the ridiculousness still in place, I cant see how used 23s are still close to MSRP when you can get a new LCI for not much more. I'm also seeing the used cars not selling at that price point. So basically, am I missing something here and are there any real world purchase price examples of used m2s that people can share.

BMWs generally have high depreciation. My 2020 STi probably only depreciated 12% in 4 years while my M2 lost about that in 1 year. Both low mileage around 2-3k miles a year. I would expect to lose with these cars and people who can hold out and buy a slightly used car will save a ton.

Not in Michigan, either….or anywhere in the country lol.

No one is “easily” getting a 6+ percent discount on an M2. You are almost certainly paying MSRP for the vehicle outside of a military or new grad discount. There is one dealer in Michigan right now that has a new M2 on the floor, and that’s typical. I decided on the M2 over a year ago, and in that time, I was only able to find two M2s that were on the floor available for sale in the entire state. Both of them were gone in less than 2 weeks.

OP, If you want to save some dollars on a used M2, surely, I would wait about 9-12 months until used 25MY start hitting dealers. The 23/24MY prices at that time will prolly be in the high 50s range.

Resale is strong with the M2. This is a good problem to have. Not so much if you thought it could be had for cheap.

Only if they are actually selling at those prices, which doesn’t seem to be the case. They look to be sitting.

ZF’s or manuals?

Manual crowd is banking on better resale due to scarcity of manual cars in the future. Perhaps some extra cost being baked in.

That is for the overall companys wellbeing, not buyers of cars made in Mexico. He believes basically that bmw profitability won't be affected by a large reduction in 2 series sales in the us caused by a trump tax.
