last one on cars and bids went RNM at 53k in July (2023 VB 6 speed with 8300 miles and goofy verus wing), and on BAT last one went RNM at 62k (2024 BG 6 speed 3600 miles and a bunch of mods). you're not going to see these consistently trade hands in the low 50s until the first batch of lease return 2023s come online (very late 2025/early 2026)

Brokers don’t determine prices, dealers do. The brokers are likely unaware of the difference in market between an M car and an X1, they just throw out a percentage to get you on the hook.
If a broker contacted my store and asked for 6% on an M2 they’d get told to kick rocks. Go try it on an M2 and prove me wrong.

BMWUSA website doesn’t filter out pre-sold orders. The internal system currently shows a total of 82 MY25’s available in the country that aren’t marked as pre-sold.

For point of reference, if I look up availability for a high volume model like an X5 (excluding X5 M) then there is a total of 4,757 available in the country that aren’t marked as pre-sold.

These figures are for in-stock inventory, excluding anything still in production or in transit.

Looks like just the threats of those tariffs worked, both Canada and Mexico have agreed to the demands.

President Claudia Sheinbaum of Mexico gave a statement "in our conversation with President Trump, I explained to him the comprehensive strategy that Mexico has followed to address the migration phenomenon, respecting human rights. Thanks to this, migrants and caravans are assisted before they reach the border. We reiterate that Mexico's position is not to close borders but to build bridges between governments and between peoples."

Sheinbaum doesn't want to admit that they are stopping them but instead insists it's because they are happy in Mexico. In reality, they don't want to stay in Mexico, they want to enter the U.S. That's like saying your pet is a canine but refusing to admit it's a dog.

lol what no, the brokers know exactly which car is what. It’s not a blanket 6% off on all models.

Lol... the threats didn't work. She was just stating what they are already doing with the current administration. This is not something new responding to trump threats.

My two local dealers had 3 M2's a week or so ago that were on the lot. All three were spoken for. When I was in one of the dealers was just casually talking with the sales mgr and he indicated they still had a back-log of orders and although they show arrivals on their website it will still be months before they might order a spec M2.

He also indicated they very rarely order a spec M car, most folks who are looking at them are accustomed to waiting.

He did say that they occasionally have monthly allocations that aren't taken on the M2's but that is not unusual with their M3/M4 allocations as well.

Anyway, where I am going with that is there could be an opportunity to pay under MSRP but getting nearly $4k off - not universally guaranteed. And "available" on the dealer websites is likely not available at all.

You consider this "plenty"? 10 used examples & 7 new is jack for a 200mi radius around one of the biggest cities in CA.

Not sure if this helps the discussion but I got a trade in offer on my 2024 M2 for $58K today (car has 5k miles, $68500 original MSRP). And that was the dealer's starting offer. There is nothing used in my area and all new cars are spoken for. This is in Minneapolis.

Do you know what the expression “baller on a budget” means/implies? I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt, because otherwise it’s a very rude and condescending question.

Maybe they have a plan to leave the wheels off and do “final assembly” in the US” 😂

It will be interesting to see if this happens, would push the 2 series pricing to above 4 series pricing (all other things being equal). Certainly that would impact 2 series sales.

Approx 20ish % depreciation. In the UK, VAT (taxes) are already included I presume? Second owner just pays MOT and not taxes again?

I just purchased another G87 M2 identical to my previous one. This black/carbon roof has a $69.5K MSRP and the previous owner had the extended service contract to 4/48K including the brakes (approx $2.5K retail add on), 6 speed manual.

My rationale was that the residual on lease return is 57% in 3 years (BMW published). So essentially 1.2% per month depreciation over 18 months.

We agreed on $57K with 8.3K miles on the clock. Has all the options except the carbon seats (not bothered).

Hope this helps.

There about 8 new cars in Bay Area A 2024 Frozen Gray that has been on the lot for 100 days in South City. 6.5% off stock without negotiating.

I think that is enough to choose from if you are local and in the market.

The 2024 M2 I traded in three weeks ago at BMW of Austin is still on their lot, priced at $64,600. Neither Austin dealer currently has any other new or used M2s in stock. In San Antonio, I see only two available—one 2024 listed at $65,000 and another that’s in transit.

I was lucky to get one of the few 2025 M2s in this area because someone canceled their order, and I happened to show up at the right time.

6.5% off the 2024frozen grey? What about the '25's?

Bmw will not experience ANY tariffs. They are the largest EXPORTER of vehicles from the US.

Think about that.

FWIW, the dealer who took my car on trade-in listed it for sale for $62,995. $58K trade-in was the best they could do for me and it felt very fair.

That’s definitely very fair. All the used 23-24 M2s in Michigan with 3-5k on them right now are going for anywhere between 62-64k
