Hello, so i am a new 2024 M240i Xdrive owner in Canada.

I was recommended to get 22/45R18 for winter but I recently bought 4 winter tires that are 225/40R18 by mistake.

Now I am not sure if that makes any difference or not, I havent seen anyone with the same setup. Since i spent alot of money on them i’d rather not change them. Will they work safetly as expected or do I NEED to change them?

One more question the car recommended tire pressure for the 225/45R18 is 36psi front and 40psi rear. Should the ones I have be the same as well? It seems pretty high to me.

Doubt the profile difference of 5% will be critical as the tyres are at least all the same size and 19 inch options have 2 profile sizes.
Recommended tyre pressures are on the door jamb.
