Dinan Performance Spring Set


Had my Dinan springs installed and the car really feels more responsive and stable at speed. Turn in to corners takes less effort. Pretty impressed with just the spring and bump stop install. Next will be Dinan rear toe links.

Congratulations, looks good. Some spacers would complete the look.

How is the ride comfort and quality in comfort mode and in sport mode vs stock?

Happy with the level of drop? Does it look even front and rear?

It definitely tightened up the ride in both comfort and sport. I prefer the way it feels now vs stock springs. It dropped the entire car about 7/8” front and rear and looks pretty level to me. Still manageable around town with gutters and dips but definitely still have to pay attention so the air deflector doesn’t get damaged. Plus acceleration and braking feel better by reducing the weight transfer.

The dampers don't wear quicker from aftermarket springs. They are damaged by springs that are too short for the damper design. They force the damper to bottom out, damaging the internal parts.

Yes, springs will last a long time. I have a 95 Mustang GT I gave my son and it has Roush Racing suspension including springs and they are still good.

Touching on what bozo777 and M2M3M3 mentioned the damage comes from bottoming out.

Dinan sells a supplemental ride quality and handling kit which are bump stops designed for the springs. This prevents the bottoming out but still allows full compression of the springs. It’s kinda like a spring in a spring and they call it a tuned progressive rate bump stop.

Perhaps that pic is immediatly after install? My car looks about that height stock. 22MM drop would (to me) look a little more aggressive than that.

That was same day. Here is a difference in height. It’s a perfect balance of improved weight transfer/handling and drivability around town with valley gutters and drive entrances.

Wider maybe. I’ve done the drag strip thing since the late 80’s. My new 24 addition is x drive which I truly love. I took a 90 degree turn with my wife at 60 and it didn’t break loose. This is my new love with AWD. I’m definitely happy with all the mods done but will seriously think about purchasing a 2026-2027 M2 with AWD. Hopefully like the M4 you will be able to turn off the front wheel drive for drifting fun.

Do you have the part number? The only suspension kit I see from Dinan for the G87 is https://www.dinancars.com/products/s...arts/D190-8220 which is adjustable, but it sounds like yours is not.

But correct mine is not adjustable. Dinan has an adjustable coil over suspension kit for the G87 that’s pretty sweet. I already had asked if it would work with my XDrive before I purchased the springs and unfortunately it does not.
