I am on my 6th BMW. On our 2nd Audi, and our first Rivian. We have a deposit on the Rivian R2.
So for the question, Would you buy another Rivian, the answer is yes. I still love my BMW's and very likely have another 1 in the future again. I see a lot of negative comments.. I don't care if you don't like the same car I do, but keep your mind open for other options. Next time you see somebody with their Rivian, ask if they like it. You will be surprised. And lastly, per figures I could find "In 2023, Rivian delivered 50,122 vehicles in North America, while Porsche achieved 86,059 deliveries". So although Porsche sold more, it is not like Rivian didn't sell any vehicles. |

Maybe this is why the resale value is so terrible?

Rivian is still very niche, so the feedback is probably from those enthusiasts who pre-ordered and got their cars right when they first hit production lines. As Rivian becomes a more mass market brand, I bet their satisfaction score will inevitably go down.

Not necessarily. Tesla might be the best selling in all of the categories they sell in and consumers seem to love them. We had one for around 18 months - Model Y Performance and it was the most uncomfortable and unrefined vehicle we have ever owned. Everything was below par for the price and service wasn’t great either…but consumer seem to rate them highly.
