Bimmertech Alpha One / 8DSP Amp
I looked into Bimmertech's Alpha One amp for the G42 and it was a whopping $1,500! Since they're using the same exact Audiotec Fischer Match Up 8DSP amp, I went ahead and purchased that for budget reasons.
Since I'm now on my own to tune the amp using Audiotec's configuration software, I wonder if anyone has a BimmerTech or Fischer audio profile that has worked well for them in their 2 series that they could share. I'm coming from a HiFi non Harman Kardan system. And for anyone that has opted for the Audiotec which doesn't have the custom Bimmertech mounting brackets pictured, how did you end up mounting the amp in the trunk? Thank you! |

BimmerTech wants 249$ just for the mounting plate alone. I think it would be fairly easy to buy a piece of sheet metal and cut it to size and drill the holes oneself. From the second picture you can see what measurements you would need to take.
As for the what you need: DSP PC Tool 5 https://www.audiotec-fischer.de/en/t...ool/downloads/ Audio sound signals for testing (scroll down it comes after the downloads for the PC Tool version 5 and 4.8): https://www.audiotec-fischer.de/en/t...ool/downloads/ Sound setup profiles. Select UP8 DSP with PP 1.7, then select BMW, then select 4 series F33. I know you don’t have a 4 series but the sound profiles are the same since the HiFi system is the same and you see the dates, this profile is current up to today): https://www.audiotec-fischer.de/en/m...ase/soundIndex You also need a good mic with a calibration profile, Umik1 is budget friendly: https://www.minidsp.com/products/aco...urement/umik-1 When you get all the equipment I can help you with the tuning part too. ETA: try to get a copy of itguy’s sound profiles, we can compare them with the base sound setup from Audiotec Fischer for future reference, it could help others too. |

Thank you!
When I was shopping for this amp through Allwoods Audio, they told me I have the HiFi RAM 2 series based on my VIN. I do see the sound setup profiles at the link you provided, but the F33 series only shows up when I select just the 1.7HiFi model. When I select the 1.7RAM, the only 4 series I see is G22/23. Should I still stick to the F33 profile and ignore the RAM designation completely? |

https://www.audiotec-fischer.de/en/m...ifiers/up-8dsp But since your car has the RAM, you need this harness MATCH PP-BMW 1.7RAM: https://www.audiotec-fischer.de/en/m.../pp-bmw-1.7ram Now when you go to the Sound Setup page: https://www.audiotec-fischer.de/en/m...ase/soundIndex You can select UP 8DSP with PP-BMW 1.7RAM, then BMW, and now you can select the correct car, the 2 series G42. Then hit download. ETA: As they say, trust but verify. Also you might want to email Audiotech Fischer and ask to double check. I emailed them regarding my Harman Kardon system, it took a few days but someone from MSC-America got back to me, I guess they are a partner with Audiotech Fischer, and they were really helpful in answering my questions.
