My car is at port...anybody want it?

UPDATE: My car arrived at the dealer the morning after I posted this.
I am going to go ahead and keep it.

TL;DR: My car is at port in Georgia. My priorities have changed. Looking for someone who wants it.

To be clear this is not a for sale ad. I am not selling the car. I am not receiving any compensation. I would connect you with my broker for you to purchase the car from BMW as first owner.

Details:
I ordered my car via a broker. The car was sold by BMW of Columbia SC and the car is going to be drop-shipped by BMW (not a 3rd party) to a dealer in Houston, Texas for delivery to me.

My priorities have changed and I don’t want to shaft my broker by backing out so I want to see if anyone out there wants the car so I can connect you with the broker to buy it.

2025 BMW M2
Skyscraper Gray
Red/Black interior
Red calipers
Sunroof
Bicolor wheels
M shadowline lights
ZF8 trans
Carbon fiber interior trim
Lighting package
Live cockpit pro
Heads up display
Active cruise control
Remote start

If anyone out there doesn’t want to wait, this car could be yours in a couple weeks.

Pretty much similar to my build coming in six weeks or so. Only difference is no heated steering wheel (guess not need in Houston) or parking assistant. Any chance you forgot to add either to your list? Good luck!

Unfortunately, I did not add those to my list. Had parking assist in my M240 and my 740 and never used either. Only optioned for the 360 camera which the M2 doesn't offer.

Would you mind connecting me with your broker. Depending on the discount I would look into it. I have 5% off msrp on my build.

Absolutely. I will contact him to give him a heads up and then send you his phone number and the order number.

Welp....my car showed up at the dealer today so it would seem I am going to have to cut a check.

I had hoped to find a new buyer while it was at port but now that it has been delivered, I am going to buy it.

My broker delivered on all of his promises and it would be unfair for me to not live up to my word. I made an agreement to purchase the car so I will follow through. You make a deal, you should keep up your end.

I appreciate the interest and wish you luck on your ordering/delivery process.

I will put in a plug for my broker BMW David who is a member on Bimmerpost. He has been communicative, honest, and easy to deal with thus far.

Will have to see how it all turns out when I make it out to Houston next week for pick up.

If you don’t keep the car long term you’re going to be out thousands and maybe 10s of thousands buying a car you don’t want. The dealership will be able to sell the car no problem and should give you your deposit back once they do. Shit happens and I’m sure David would understand if you backed out. The dealership can hold the car for a couple of days while you try to get a buyer lined up too. Did you put a deposit down? Losing that will be a cheaper option than buying the vehicle, worst case.

I think it’s commendable that you want to stick to your word on a deal but assuming you have a refundable deposit, dealer will just sell this for MSRP on the lot and there are plenty of other deals for the broker. If you take it, it will depreciate $10k the first year.

Unless you really still want it. Then take it and have fun!

you are not going to regret it, its a great car, but Drew and Rob above characterize it correctly. if this is going to put you in tough financial straits, do NOT follow through. if you think you will sell it before three years, do NOT follow through.

I think some people are missing the premise posted by the OP. The OP did not contract with the dealership, but it was a brokered deal (3rd party).

I agree.

Life situations change all the time.

OP Don't feel obligated to take on a financial liability that no longer suits your life. Dealers and brokers understand and will get over it.

And how does that change anything on the side of the OP?

He had some things I. His life change that no longer make this a wise or reasonable purchase. The broker is in the business of selling cars. A deposit pays for the risk of the buyer pulling out.

Losing the deposit is going to be less financially devastating than being in a car that (maybe I'm assuming wrong) will place him under undue financial strain.

I will say to the OP; if you aren't 110% sure do not buy that car. If it is going to negatively affect your finances; do not buy that car.

Thanks for the comments and advice. It is not a financial issue. More related to not really needing the car and not having alot of time to use it. Haven't signed papers yet.

Tough situation if I back out. Car was ordered by and belongs to a BMW dealer in SC but is sitting at a BMW dealer in Houston. If I don't purchase the car, Houston dealer is stuck with a car they don't own and SC dealer owns a car half way across the country. Not ideal for anyone.

I still like the carand I am sure I will enjoy it. We will see.
