Most people do, yes. I did. I guess you could google the pros and cons of both.

I just didn't want to worry about air lines or leaks. Even though that's not even a reported known issue lol

The vacuum actuators just have different motors that sit on the pipe. There's no extra tubing or leaks. That said, you would lose the ability to set discrete position of the valves with vacuum so IDK why you would switch. Vacuum would be open or closed state only.

I hope those of you who chose the Ali option will have some updates in a couple years. I drive my car year round, so replacing the whole system means I want to be sure there is some longevity. Fair point that a catback is about 2K USD (I have looked) compared to something costing almost half.

I'm not of the camp where I have an outright issue of China. My beliefs, ingrained from 15 years working in supply chain including sourcing from China, is that it doesn't matter where something is made. What matters is the quality of engineering, materials used, validated and proven processes, workmanship, and quality control. Some of you with this system can probably attest after a couple years.

What I REALLY want for my car is a 2JZ or RB26 sound, the B58 seems to have a bit of a rumble from it rather than the smooth high pitched tone of the older straight sixes. I found one example online that was closer to a Japanese I6, but he had an upgraded turbo. Might be a pipe dream for me...sigh. Should have bought a MK4 Supra when they were cheap 15 years ago LOL.

Being in Canada , and those up North in general , yes it will certainly be interesting to see how everything holds up after a couple years of snow, salt, and rain.

Where I'm at, I don't even have to consider it. I had my Alibaba tips on my factory exhaust for about a year, and of course they still look brand new.

I would imagine though , after a couple years up North , the exhaust clamps at minimum, would develop a bit of corrosion

VegasG42 I have a question for you. I also got a Chinese manufactured exhaust sold by German Car Accessories.

The type of fuse they provided is kind not what all other brands use. It’s just a simple plug. On other hand, most of the brands use a fuse tap with 2 additional slots on the side. Could you please suggest what should I use? Also could you please confirm that 12V DC Power outlet fuse slots are designed for dash cam and valve controller? I circled that on the diagram picture below

Yes, fuse slot 251 is indeed the cars 12v acc cigarette lighter circuit. The fuse is a 20amp protected fuse. As you notice on the diagram , the - to + signifies it is the 12v from the cars battery.

I'm not sure if you permanently dismantled the cigarette lighter style plug the valve kit came with.
