Track pads for 2024+ M240i G42 (facelift)
Hi everybody! First post here, milestone moment haha!
I hope that this will not be dismissed as "just another question about brake pads". I spent a lot of hours and send inquiries to some big vendors before posting. Problem: Most track pads listed for the M240i G42 are NOT compatible with the 2023-2024-2025 LCI models, due to BMW changing the distance between the pin guide holes. I had vendors telling me to drill the pads, a solution that I'm not comfortable with. I found a set of endurance Pagid RSL29 pads that are compatible (but listed under G20 and not G42 - the website even says it doesn't fit our cars but over the phone they said it would. Link here) Long story short, if anybody has informations about good track pads to fit the LCI M240i (facelift), this could be useful for a few people out there... Thanks in advance and happy new year! |

Update:
I had a few conversations with very friendly people at PFC and it turns out that they are confident that they have pads that fit. One of their engineer layered the 3d models and said that the holes for the pins would work. I'll order those tomorrow and keep everybody updated. I also had talks with RG Sport, and the owner is currently working on the issue and should contact me shortly. They seem confident that they will be able to provide a set of iSweep pads with endurance compound. Same thing, I'll update the thread when I'll know more.

Well, that’s what PFC recommended, so I was just following their advice. I remember that these pads where supposed to be good for hard breaking on track while still be quiet enough for city driving between track days.
However, looking at the charts, I can see positives for both compounds. Did you try both? |

331/332 are designed for ABS. much better release characteristics than 11's. I ran 11's for years on race cars. no way i would ever run them on the street. currently run 39's on the E36 race car, but that is a purpose built race car. JMHO, but I have been running a variety of PFC pads on BMW race cars for a couple of decades. 08, 97, 01, 11, 39, 331, 332. 331/332 will be the pad I use on track for the G87 when it comes in. |

and if I may ask, what level are you at track days and how many a year will you be doing? those answers make a difference in pad selection.

PFC might not be the best pad for you. They will squeal on the street. I do have the ZTK package and Pagid pads I ordered the holes didn't line up so I returned them. I found that Endless make these but hesitant. I ordered anyway and I will tell you these pads are the best I have used so far. Great on the track great and great on the street, no noise and I don't have to swap pads. I have been tracking vehicles for 20 years. If you know your BMW pad part number contact Endless to see if they make them. These pads are made to order and takes about 4-6 weeks to get them. I use the ME20 compound. If you do decide to buy these get them from Black Hawk Japan. They are a fraction of the price than you can get then here in the states and the same lead time.

I would order the Endless and buy what ever pad you can get your hands on. If you order from Turner or FCP they will give you a lifetime warranty even on consumables. As for Raybestos I have used them in the past and liked them very much. I would say the Endless are just as good if not better than the Raybestos, but you can't get them.

Just heard back from RG Sports, and they have pads that can fit the car. they offer iSweep Endurance compound for around $650, and iSweep 4000 time attack compound for $450.

You should probably aim for a pad designed for endurance racing, like the PFC 97. Way better than any street/track pad and could last most of the summer. Sprint pads like the PFC 11, 39, 331 will have more initial bite, but will not last a long. |

I went with RG Sport and the iSweep s4000 race pad. According to their chart, it has better characteristics than their endurance pad, especially under cold or extremely hot temp. Not sure how long it will last or how hard it will be on the rotors, but if the pads fit the car that would already be a first step forward! The lead time is 2 weeks. It will give me time to go see Endless USA and talk to them more in details about ordering pads even though they are 8 weeks out… |

Here is the chart.
I can't wait to receive these pads and see if they fit the new 2024+ model (I reached the point where I need to see it to believe it haha) |

Did you end up talking to endless? I am in a similar boat - 2024 m240i, no ZTK package and looking for dual duty pads for light track day use. I know that everyone says there is "no such thing as good dual duty pad", but at this time I have no option of frequent pad switching, so I am fine with compromises (also did a couple of track days on stock pads last year, and it was fine for the most part).
