It takes less than 5 min to install. The guy in the video uses more steps than necessary, such as replacing the white clips. I also pre-installed the spring and side white pieces into the new console lid instead of doing it at the end.

This is an old question, but the M Performance logo started flaking off fairly quickly. The white letters come right off with isopropyl alcohol. It does leave the black outline of the letters stuck to the Alcantara, but those can be tediously picked off.

I checked where my arm rested on it & it wasn't anywhere close to the letters. The Alcantara looks new, zero matting, etc., but the letters flaked off. My Z06 has almost everything inside covered with Alcantara (that I personally added), so mine wasn't a care issue.

*side note: I really wish the autos had the matte black buttons/dial on the center console. I hate the shiny piano black.

That would drive me nuts. I have shiny black plastic in my wife's GTI. There's a small scratch on the parking brake handle and God only knows I'm the only one that sees it but still, that shit scratches far too easily.

It's why I ordered the aluminum matte interior on my '24. I loathe shiny interior materials, both because of the glare, as well as the tendency to show scratches. I covered all my piano black plastic in my '22 G42 with carbon fiber overlays from aliexpress as a protective measure to save the piano black plastic from scratching.

If there had been a matte carbon fiber interior option offered, I certainly would have ponied up for the upgrade.
