No sunroof rattles on my M2 or X3MC. Heck I never even had sunroof rattles on my STI and that car was a rattletrap. I didn't think this was a big issue in this day and age as it's been decades since I had a car with sunroof issues.

worthy thread revival. it really is annoying that your options are $2600 carbon roof, or sun roof...

My 2022 g42 m240i did not rattle, but when the vehicle was off camber or when the chassis was experiencing twisting forces, I could hear the rubber gasket seals squeaking at low speeds.

Especially when the factory regularly produces 2 series coupe (230i) bodies with sealed roofs.

M2s with plain steel roofs are available in markets such as Canada. It is just a BMW USA marketing decision on why you can't get them there.

The majority of F87 M2 and M2C were slicktops; fortunately, BMWNA specified the sunroof as an option which very few selected. We get stuck with sunroofs on many models here in the USA though that are optional essentially in every other world market...like the standard G87 M2 configuration.

Man, my GTI's sunroof rattles too. I went to their forum (something about vortex) and apparently, it's a known thing. Personally, I would never get another car with a sunroof, wife wanted it and she got it.
