Going for the M3?
So lately I have been wondering if a coupe will meet my needs, as more often I have been putting the kids car seats in and out of my current car. So I have been thinking about sedans again, and with the 0.9% on the M3 sedan, and basically a buyer's market, I am looking at getting an M3 sedan possibly. I drove one, and it's a great car.
Anyhow, I am looking to get an M3 at $1000 or less over invoice. If it doesn't work out, I will still be looking to an 09 335 or 135. Anyone have an idea about what kind of deals people are getting on M3's? |

Thanks for the info. I have been on the M3post board, lurking around there a bit in the last few days. But I thought I would bring it up here, since I am used to being here on the 1addicts, and value all your opinions.

There was a post on m3forum that said dealers in SoCal were not ordering any custom cars because they couldn't move the current inventory. I don't know how true that is, but there are a LOT fo cars on the lots. It's partly the greedy dealer's fault too because they ordered all these LOADED cars.
I'd call around and if you find one on the lot you like, $1000 over should be easily obtainble on an '08, or possible better, like blacknbean said. |

It's a buyer's market everywhere - assuming they fix the credit situation and you can get a loan. If you can afford a $50k+ car, there probably won't be a better time to buy one so go for it.

my colleague just got into an M3 sedan with the BMW Select program... he put $4k down, price was $61K, and with a $34K "balloon" residual at the end, he is paying around $710/mo

Balloon payments sounds risky.. what's the advantage to that over a lease and buying it at the end other than that you're taking the responsibility for trading it/selling it at the end?
Especially in this case.. I wonder what the market will be like for cars that return 14 city/20 hwy in a few years... or even 19 city/25 hwy. |

I was thinking the same thing. No more than $1000 over invoice. The dealer I am working with is actually trying to find a match for what I want by getting it from another dealer. And it definitely is a buyer's market (for any car). Latest numbers show industry wide auto sales down over 26% compared with last year.
