No problem Jake. But keep in mind that the new regulations will measure mpg at 55mph. The 335 (non diesel) gets very close to 30mpg at 55mpg. I'm willing to bet that the 330, 328, 325 average close to 35mpg at 55mpg. The 53x cars can't be far behind.

Considering the amount of time it takes to get a vehicle from the drawing board to the dealership, I don't know if this is a good target date, even if we are within less than 10MPG. As if carmakers weren't struggling enough, this forces them to scrap God-knows-how-much $$ worth of R&D and planning they had done to this point, and may cause rushed implementation, leading to quality and manufacturing defects.

I think it would help a lot to know where each carmaker stood in terms of CAFE MPG standards as we speak right now.

Thank you. That's a very crucial piece of info.

I'm kind of surprised at how close some automakers are, and how far away some others are.... No doubt this standard is going to have a decently large financial impact on those furthest away from that goal.

Thanks for the link lib.

OK BMW just bring us the 123d and the 530d and make the new 2012/13 1 Series that 4 cyl Twin Turbo you mentioned a while back and I think we will be headed in the right direction.
