Help?! Re image my hard drive???

OK, so the computer has been acting all kinds of crazy. Ran Malwarebytes, Ad Aware, Norton Antivirus, Spybot. Got the computer to function again, but there are still some serious problems. I have even done system restore, but i am certain that something is SERIOUSLY screwing with my PC. I can not use "ctl alt delete" nothing happens.... no task manager. Spybot report that a hex change was made and i thought it could fix it....NOPE! When i click on any link in a google or yahoo search.... or anywhere for that matter, i get re routed to off the wall sites and porn sites. and the thing runs SLOW!!!

SO,
I got the Windows XP operating system CD that came with the computer, it says "re installation CD" on it. Should i re image the damn thing? If so how do i do this? I have backed up everything important onto my external HD.

Also, I know that i got the updated office, Vista i think, and i have gotten really used to it. Is there a way to keep that? or will the whole OS go to the older XP?

Thanks

Sounds like your PC has lots of issues.

It's not clear if you have XP or Vista as your OS.

If it's XP, you can just reinstall the OS with the CD you have. Make sure you repartition and reformat to make sure that all the problems are erased.

If you upgraded from XP to Vista, you can install Vista and let it upgrade itself. Details here: Windows Secrets

That's what confused me. MS Office doesn't have a Vista version. It's either Office 2003, Office 2007, or an earlier version. Office 2003 and Office 2007 will run on XP or Vista.
